Today I was reminded of how often I live in a cocoon. I overheard some coworkers talking about a recent murder that happened in town, they then mentioned a past incident regarding a student and suspicious circumstances.

It turns out that a student committed suicide eight months ago by jumping off of a parking garage in town. Some months after his death, multiple witnesses came forward implicating him in the death of a professor, including bludgeoning and immolation, in a parking garage no less, eight years earlier. These witnesses claimed they were afraid to come forward for fear of reprisal.

It turns out that the now deceased student was a student of mine a few summers ago. He came off as a bit irascible, but it's difficult to conceptualize occupying a shared space with an alleged murderer for six hours a week.

Needless to say, spooky.

This is a friend of mine, I've known him for 20 years. Always a mild mannered really nice guy. I got him a job at my work this summer after he and this girl split and he was a little down on his luck.

This just happened this weekend.

According to the probable cause statement, he and the woman met up in the parking lot at Bass Pro Shops on Saturday night. They left together, heading to a bar.

Not that I doubt the veracity of your claims, but I doubt them. Those two mother****ers are some extremely bad mother****ers. The inmates at ELDO steered clear of them back in the first years after their conviction.

I can also say, that story changed my life. After reading what they made those people do, I swore to myself I'd never allow myself/family to die on terms like that. I'd attack and be killed first. They were paralyzed with fear and I wish there would have been a miracle happenstance incident (like you) to save them.

I only knew one of them because he posted on gopowercat, a KSU BBS. But you get a sense of people reading their posts and I was stunned when it was revealed that he was one of the victims.

In the very small town that I grew up in, a very close friend of mine's grandmother was murdered...AND RAPED, and apparently sodomized postmordem.

This lady was in her late 80's..

It shook the town...It was horrendous.

It took them a year to finally find the guy, but he was right besides us many a night.

he was kind of a small time drug dealer and was a primary connection for the marijuana and other shirt that could be found at our frequent keg parties.

It was small town, we were all kind of friends...

The girl who's GM was killed and I went to his house often to score weed.

A FULL YEAR of this SICK bastard right beside us like nothing ever happened...


The town was McKenzie, TN

The guy's name was Tracy Harris.

The girl's name was Lindsey Reid..

EDIT: HOLY SHIT!!!

A few years ago a buddy of mine..Mike..I went to high school with got in touch with me..he had moved to Texas, had a really good job, beautiful girlfriend, nice house and car..asked me if I wanted to come down to visit and hang out with him for a few days..said his girlfriend had just bought a gun for self defense and wanted me to teach her how to use it..so I get on the motorcycle and ride down to spend about a week there

Little back story..we became friends because I beat a kids ass who was bullying Mike..Mike was a skinny goofy kid who was the nicest and one of the smartest people you would ever meet..which meant in high school you got picked on..after I stepped in to help him that day we became good friends

After I arrived in Texas I stopped for fuel and called Mike letting him know I would be there in 10 min or so..he said him and his girlfriend were home..I get to the house and knock..wait a minute..ring the bell and knock again..pull my phone out to call and see if they were out back or something..when a gunshot goes off in the house..so I think shit they are being robbed..I pull my pistol open the door come around into the dining room to see Mike..he said sorry and put a bullet in his own head

Girlfriend had been cheating on him with a guy Mike worked with who had been an asshole to Mike..girlfriend had bought the gun to protect herself from Mike cause he had been going crazy..he somehow talked her into coming over to try and make up..had jumped her when she got there and tied her up and then killed her when I got there..Mike left a note to me explaining it all..said that I saved him from killing himself in school so he thought maybe if I got there I could save him again but decided that it was too much because he wanted to marry this woman and she had already killed him
