The 49ers have expressed to others that a deal for QB Alex Smith is effectively complete. Can't be finalized til league year begins 3/12

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora

so it's not official, both clubs view it at as it's effectively done. I do not know the other team. KC and JAX are 2 teams that make sense

It's a consensus with most mock drafts and analysts saying that Joeckel should be number one pick. Our own Gm doesn't even think there's a single round 1 qb.

I'll trust and get behind whoever is under center.

I just think you're wrong.....

I highly doubt we bring in Alex Smith......

If we do, I'll root for him and give him a shot.....but I will remain a skeptic

I don't doubt that. I could see reid liking geno alot. That has nothing to do with them going hard after alex smith. So perhaps they have both qbs in their future plans which i do not mind at all. All im saying is that getting alex is a GOOD thing for our team not a detriment.

IMO the best option would be to get Alex Smith but also draft Geno Smith and let them battle it out to see who can be the starter.
