*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

I have started exercising. Starting small. Walking on tread mill at a decent rate. Getting the heart rate up a little. Attempting sit ups and doing a lot of stretching.
biggest thing since summer vacation started--One bottle of Dew a day instead of two. (16.9 oz) Still need the caffeine for now. The issue is stress from the day of teaching. I need to find a decent replacement for soda. Wish me luck.

I'm down 42 pounds since March 25th.
I can now do 8.10 miles in 60 minutes + 3 minute cool down on the Lifestyle elliptical burning close to 800 calories. I then stretch for 15 minutes, lift for 20-30 minutes with little rest in between sets and then sit in the dry sauna at the highest temp for 10 minutes. I don't lift to bulk up but to stay toned and improve strength. Mostly 60lb curls with crooked bar and reverse curls with 50, pec dec flies with 100, shoulder presses on machine with 80lb, triceps push down on cables with 70lb and dumbbell seated shoulder press with 30 lbs each. At 54 years old, I'm not trying to look like Arnold in Pumping Iron, just get down 100 pounds by December 1st.

I don't live terribly far from the old 24 on Englewood in the Northland. I belonged to the 24 for a few years and was wondering if they were ever going to come back or become something else. Sounds like I'll just stick with the Becahbody workouts at the house (Silock's favorite!). |

You won't need to do shit at home. And you look better than I expected Billay (no homo). You definitely have more muscle than Clay. Nice work.
