I like a lot of things about Fangraphs... great source of information, and I often get lost diving into some of the things they track (especially PitchF/X data).

But I've never been impressed with Dave Cameron, mostly for the reasons mentioned already in this thread. I don't think he's nearly as brilliant or insightful as HE thinks he is, and I've found him to often be intellectually dishonest.

The folks at Fangraphs at times exhibit an inflexibility of thought that - as PB succinctly points out - is counteractive to their proposed mission (revealing truths about baseball).

Thanks for the clarification. I attended those games and remember hearing about Beane's disdain for how the royals were built on the post game during mt 3 hour drive home.

Alright, today it hit me. I'm nervous and anxious for tomorrow's game. Way more than I have been for any of the playoff games and to a much higher degree than I have ever felt before. This finally feels real. I was enjoying the ride through the early rounds because we were mostly ahead in games and I kept thinking a loss would be ok but it never came. It was easy to keep the nerves at bay with the way we have been playing and leading series. But it's real now. Tomorrow starts the biggest sporting even I will ever see a KC team take part in. While I didn't expect us to be here, now that we are, I feel we must finish this. I believe we CAN finish this. I expect us to finish this. And if we don't, while I can't complain, I'll be pretty bummed.

What a weird but awesome feeling. This is it gents. I apologize to any of you I've been a dick too in game/Royals threads, especially over the past few week. Time to ride this out and finish on top!

I was incredibly nervous for the Oakland game. Just slightly nervous for the Angels series. Then a little more nervous once the Orioles series started but that went away after the first two games. I am not finding myself nervous about this series at all. I know I will be but I am supremely confident we finish this and that it will be quite comfortable.

Game 2. With my son. He was 15 months old and I held him in my arms when we won it all in 1985. I never thought I'd have this chance. Not in my lifetime.

The Royals beat the A's on the 45th anniversary of my dad's death in that once in a lifetime dramatic fashion. That game is still at the forefront of my mind. Winning that game had to be as incredible as the Joe Carter HR to beat the Phillies, the Bill Mazeroski HR to beat the Yankees.

When that happened, I knew this was going to be deep run and a wild ride.
