VFW to boycott Chiefs etc

Apparently VFW halls are going to boycott any team that protest during the national Anthem.

I think this protest needs to end now, but the cops in this country need to clean up their act. The racist treatment is deplorable. The right wing racists in America have gone over the edge. It's despicable.

No, this clearly has gotten the attention it deserved and has started a conversation for people who otherwise would have ignored it if CK never did what he did. The whole point of a protest is to bring attention to something. He has done that while being peaceful and articulating his thoughts really well.

Why do you think people are critical of the object and manner of the protest.

If what you want is nuance, you don't say the entire nation is oppressive and purposefully refuse to honor the anthem and flag. If what you want is rationale discourse, you don't say you will continue the same until things are 'better' without any indication what better is.

A good majority of the people critical of this aren't even against what some of his aims might be. Believe it or not, people around the nation have ALREADY had heartfelt conversation, and I'm sure suffered many sleepless nights concerned with the tension between minorities communities and law enforcement. So part of the offense is this fawning because a jock mumbled out a half-formed thought and bared his booty-hole like he was some sort of pioneer.

I make a post saying we need to come together and stop seeing everything as Us vs.Them and I get attacked. This is what is wrong with this country right now. You can't even be reasonable and non-partisan without being attacked. Did you even see the post I was replying to? Do you understand what I was replying to at all?

If you can't see my post as supplemental advice reinforcing your expressed sentiment, one might get the sense that when you say 'stop seeing us-v-them' you actually mean 'stop thinking and get on board with us or you're just a them.'

He's made me donate more money to the cops because they're awesome!

He brought attention to a non-problem. That's stupid... Cops are great. Cops are wonderful. Cops to great things. That's the end of the story. I fully support them, and I hope they take a larger stand against shitty people.

I suspect we're on the opposite ends actually. I support cops and the way they do things now, I think you don't like it.
