Let's be honest, all of us would have taken a split coming into the series. Buuutttt, we've won 2 of the first 3 and winning the series would be awesome.

Ian Kennedy on the bump after looking great his first outing.

Standard lineup with Orlando in right.

Let's do this shit

I think it's Fuentes. Dyson and Orlando will platoon, so no regular Abs for Fuentes. Better to send him to Omaha and get regular time.

Re: Kennedy... Looking pretty goddamn sharp. What a genius anyone who clamored for him was...

I'll play "what if" for a second. If KC had traded for him in 2013 like I wanted, I think KC wins the series in 2014, with Kennedy standing in for Vargas. And it probably could have been accomplished for Aaron Crow and Tim Collins.

It was #2 on sport center top ten, the one that beat him wasn't even close to the degree of difficulty of Esky's catch. Upsetting.

To play devil's advocate, it's also possible that the Angels tag him for 3 runs in Game 1 of the ALDS and set the tone for the rest of the series.

Vargas may have faltered in the World Series, but he was absolutely money until that point.

I would take my chances on the re-roll. Vargas was effective against the Angels and Orioles, but he also was pretty lucky and benefited from some amazing defensive plays.

I wasn't following the GDT last night and the Houston broadcast never clarified, but was it ever disclosed what the crew chief at 2nd base talked about with Kennedy on the mound?
