Royals DON'T buy WS tickets at current prices - Page 17

I have a few friends that deal in the secondary market professionally here in KC. (Not scalpers, technically. These guys have offices and pay taxes.) I've been told by, literally, all of them not to buy until at least Monday. All three that I've called about tickets have told me they have them, but that no one is buying at current prices...even on StubHub. They say that by game day they expect prices to drop dramatically. One even saying he expects SRO to fall to around $250 and then for prices to increase incrementally from there. He basically said people are throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks at this point, and that nothing is sticking.

Again, I went to HS with 2 of these guys, so them not trying to stiff me isn't a surprise...even though it's basically what they do for a secondary income.

If you have the scratch to buy now, go ahead I guess. But if you're on a budget, I wouldn't rule out going to a game just yet.

Only 19 of the 868 on stubhub are listed under $700/each... will probably be lucky if it hits $500 before the game.

I paid $750 for 435 row VV. I know I overpaid but simply don't care, this is probably a once in a life time opportunity. Cant wait!!!

Yea, I decided to bite the bullet this morning because none of the game 1 tickets are dropping this morning and the number of tickets is steadily declining.

There will probably be some one off deals, but I think the floor is set.

This was a very fun social experiment to watch but you people are now paying what alnorth paid during the ALCS. I get not paying the $1K but you people are back to square one after a week of F5ing.

Moral of the story is listen to Mer, not strongside's highschool friends.

I saved a ton of money by obsessively refreshing. I paid about $570 each for tickets yesterday afternoon that would go for way above $700 now.

In my case though, I was willing to wait till day of, but I wasn't committed to it. I saw a deal that I wasn't sure would come again, and took it.

I still think people who wait till a few hours before, if they can, will get cheaper than what they are now.

edit: the world series ticket I bought a couple weeks ago, I sold Friday at a profit. I bought back in at a price a lot lower than I bought that ticket.

Yeah, I think it took the route people were expecting, it's just that prices didn't drop as much as people were hoping... I'm guessing it's in a holding phase until 3 or 4 at the earliest.
