Umm… No, he is not.

I really don't get where you're considering Berry to be an average Safety. You're comparing INT totals with Free Safeties who of course are going to have more turnovers because they have more coverage responsibilities. When you say he doesn't make plays, you're forgetting that there were many games this year where Berry missiled in to cut plays short of the sticks. Honestly, I think you're putting way too much stock in the final playoff game where, admittedly, he wasn't very good.

He's young, plays terrific in the box, improved a ton in coverage this year, and he is going to keep getting smarter which is critical given that strong safeties in the Ryan defense have a ton more "quarterbacking" responsibility.

How can you compare Berry to Byrd when they play different positions and are asked to do different things? Your FS should generate more turnovers. Berry is probably the 2nd best SS in the game, and might be #1 if Kam wasn't in the perfect system. The only safety I would even think about trading straight up for is Earl Thomas.

It's hard to quantify or compare, because a lot of Byrds turnovers were simply from playing centerfield, a position we don't have berry in or hadn't until later in th year.

Also undervalued about Berry is that he is a leader. Was respected by day 1. You can't teach that

How much is Bernard Pollard worth? Or Eric Reid? Eric Weddle? Mark Barron? Barry Church?

These are guys who were statistically comparable to EB in 2013. Surely Barry freaking Church doesn't make Jairus Byrd money for being the Cowboys' leading tackler?

I don't think he is a good leader at this point.

We blew some big leads this year.

That doesn't typically happen when you have a great leader at safety.

We blew the lead because we have the most stubborn DC in the league. And we put too much faith in Kendrick Lewis. Nothing to do with Berry

You are the wishy washiest poster here going back and forth all the time.

You make Clay look like he is concrete.

Don't get me wrong you seem like a nice guy but balls do not seem to be your forte.

That's foolish, Marcellus.

You just don't like fans that are critical of the organization.
