I think taking more defensive linemen, or worse, Joeckel or Fisher, makes even LESS sense. A trade down is clearly the balanced approach in all of this, but that's only if it can get pulled off. |

It's all good. When the Chiefs take Geno Dane can just fall back on "wow what a reach!"

If so, that would make Dorsey the most incompetent general manager of all time. |

If you bet on shit not going well, you've got a 31/32 chance of being right.
It's a good gig, pessimism in the NFL. |

He traded for Alex Smith because it's "safe".
I rhink the only way this really works out is if they get lucky and a QB falls in their laps by either trading back to recoup the 2nd rounder or it happening in round 3. |

I won't be surprised if they take a QB at some point, but not at #1 overall.

I'm not at all thrilled with Smith but if this team goes and spends some money on some starters in FA, finds a way to get a good developmental QB like Bray and has a solid overall draft, I'll give it a shot.

I'm just trying to get SNR's take, since he was so opposed to the idea of going DL. This draft is sort of 2009 redux for the Chiefs, where they've got a top pick in a draft that's very weak at the top, and there's not really a QB worth taking at their spot. All the "Never take a 5 tech that high!" screams could well end up being replaced by "Never take a CB that high!", or some other equivalent.

Taking a CB there doesn't bother me if the talent is elite.

I think Bray has the most potential as a developmental project, with Dysert a close second.
