Even so, it probably would have all been temporary, but we shortly after started getting weird threats about letting him back into his account so he could retrieve private messages to press charges against another user. Apparently both of them are from the Coalition and have some tiff going over there. Regardless, we reacted to the messages like we normally do by ignoring them.

When no reply was received, he started threatening to file a police report against the Planet itself. In case any of you are wondering how you might be able to find yourself on the permanent persona non grata list, that's a good place to start.

Anyway, I've un-ignored his posts so that threads will start acting normally again, and he's officially banned. If he can stop being such a douche, we might let him back at some point, but it's not looking good for him at the moment.

When it comes down to it, this is probably just a "for the good of the Planet" thing. Probably wouldn't fly last year, but now that we've got enough variety amongst the mods to make sure we're not overreacting, I think it's the way to go.

And now back to your regularly-scheduled programming...

And, Mr. DaFace ... there's something very wrong in the top floor of that guy. It became more and more obvious as his post count increased. I'm sincerely sorry that you guys have to encounter, let alone deal with, something or someone like that. Life is far too short to have to be exposed to that kind of foolishness.

I get the strong impression that he really wanted to "belong" somewhere. Sadly, I think his best bet in that regard is an institution of some sort.

I assume he thinks there's some sort of evidence in a PM that he wants to use in his lawsuit against said other member. As for what the hell is going on there and what's in the PM, I don't really know and don't really care. If there's any validity to it, we wouldn't hesitate if someone of authority actually asked for it, but threats don't go over well.

Just another comment, then I'm done ... I guess I feel bad and somewhat responsible because I called him an addle-brained, dimwitted, cretin and a ferret head.

You guys have obviously made a tough call ... I don't know if it's unprecedented, but so far as I'm concerned, it was clear that every thread in which he participated turned into a kind of "whack-a-mole" kind of deal. The conversation just sort of devolved every time.

Even people who tried to talk with him, rein him in a tad, or tease him a little in a good-natured way were treated with bizarre responses. In my experience, I have never encountered someone so obtuse ... and I once had a close relationship with a Nordstrom's mannequin.

It would be nice to think he would somehow become ... I don't know ... just "normal" ... but I don't anticipate it. I really am sorry you guys have to deal with that kind of thing and I apologize if, in some way, I contributed to the problem.
