You were insistent that the Cavs should keep Wiggins. Please stop with this. Staying with the Cavs was by far the best thing for Wiggins. But this is a business so no reason the Cavs should care. It will remain to be seen if the Cavs end up with the better part of the deal. I'm just not a big fan of the trade.

I maintain that landing Love without giving up Wiggins was possible. Getting Love was guaranteed by giving up Wiggins, and the Cavs didn't want to risk it.
But I do not know what situation was better for Wiggins, I really don't. On the one hand, he could learn under Lebron. But learn what? How to be the fourth option? Kobe didn't learn under anyone. Lebron didn't learn under anyone. KD didn't learn under anyone. I mean, yes, they all had veterans on their team but it's not like there was a superstar there ready to mentor them. They were given superstar roles and grew into them. Perhaps that's exactly what Wiggins needs. perhaps he'll never be the man and was better suited to stay in Cleveland where he's third or fourth fiddle. But we'll never know for sure. It sure makes it more interesting, though. Now Minnesota and Cleveland and Utah and Milwaukee have to be monitored. Throw in that Kobe is back in LA and Rose is HARDCORE back in Chicago, and the entire NBA landscape is changed. Miami, Indiana, Atlanta - all playoff teams that could easily drop out of relevance this year. And before anyone says Kobe learned under Shaq, I'll preempt by saying Kobe arrived a superstar. He exploded onto the scene as a rookie. |

The Cavs' situation was absolutely perfect for him. His role would be to pick and pop, stay out of the spotlight, and mostly be a support player as he learned the game. He would have been an able passer which is perfect, since the Cavs have 2 selfish players in Waiters and Kyrie and a guy in LeBron who should always be touching the ball. And while his teammates were grinding it on offense, he could devote all his energy to locking down his defender. Not to mention that Wiggins' brand would have grown playing next to LeBron. He is literally getting thrown to the Wolves. He has a tremendous expectation to be a superstar now and he needs a lot of time before that happens. |

LeBron has unbelievable basketball IQ. So did Jordan. Jordan is not a good talent evaluator, and LBJ is suspect too. For as much shit as Gilbert gets for the Lebron's first Cavs team, much of that team were Lebron's guys. I sure hope it works out but I'm not as convinced as most that Lebron should have as much personnel say as he does. I still think the Heat won moreso because of how ridiculously good Lebron and Wade were moreso than because of any of the surrounding personnel.

The Clippers sale went through today, bringing a close to one of the ugliest chapters in NBA history.

Huh? No he didn't, he averaged a meager 7 points per game on 41% shooting and rode the bench behind Eddie Jones and Byron Scott. It wasn't until his second season that he started getting more playing time.

You've been on chiefsplanet long enough to know that not all people are going to treat him fairly. How long did it take everyone to call Bennett a flat out bust? |
