The 4.2 is a sunk cost.

If they get a similar pass rusher, he's going to cost $6-8 million as well and not have the familiarity that Elvis does.

Unless they're content with not having the pass rusher, they're better served by re-signing him and dealing with the administrative !@#$up, presuming the scars will heal.
