BCS win is equivalent to the Final Four. The same can't be said for an elite 8 as that's not really a thing.

The exposure and respect gained from Final Fours and BCS games are much higher for programs. That's why the comparison works.

How is a BCS equivalent to the final four. That's a ridiculous belief.

Literally nobody believes that. Mizzou finished ranked ahead of ku after that win.

Fortunately for Mizzou there's a new AD. If Alden had stayed, KA would've gotten 3-4 years. Hopefully (for me anyway) he comes back next year and shows just enough "progress" to eke out that 3rd year.

Says who? You?? Literally no one believes that.

The BCS title game and bowls (Orange, Sugar, Fiesta, Rose) made up 10 teams. Comparing it to the Elite 8 is frankly a much better comparison as those are the final 8 teams (as opposed to 10) and they are all Regional Finals.

And that's not even mentioning the little matter of Mizzou earning their 2009 Elite 8 appearance by winning games, whereas KU 'earned' their BCS appearance, in part, thanks to a ticket guarantee by their slimy AD.

I said a BCS win. Not simply an appearance.

If KU would have lost then maybe the experts and general public would listen to MU fans who claimed they were undeserving.

But as we know that never happened.

Winning does not prove they were deserving. it only means they won.

kU was absolutely undeserving.

But that's ok, that bullshit system is gone by the wayside, and soon no one will even know what it was.

You have to earn your way there to get the respect that comes along with winning an important football game for the first time in school history. Kansas didn't earn their way there, it was bought and paid for.

Yeah, that exposure and respect from the BCS win sure seemed to do a lot for KU.

Your football program followed up its 'major win' in much the same way Mizzou's basketball program followed up its Elite 8 appearance, so I'd say the comparison for both going in the toilet since then is very applicable.

Again, not really. Kansas steam-rolled the B1G in the next year in post season play and Mizzou couldn't get out of the 2nd round.

To your point though MUBasketball had it's historic Big 12 Tournament Championship only a couple years later. However after just a week the season ended with the worst statistical upset in the history of the NCAA Tournament.

Other than being 8th in the final BCS poll, and 5th in the computer portion, you're right: didn't deserve one of the 10 slots. Lulz at your tortured logic

Kansas is a bigger draw than Missouri. Advertising and ticket sales drive bowls. You have no one to blame but your own generic institution.

Maybe change up your mascot or something and the country may notice you.

You know exactly how that feels. We won't unless we reach a decade of failure like Beaker football....at that point you will be on two decades.
