*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

Tried a chicken bake at costco for first time. Don't think I can go there and not buy one now. Gonna suck when I'm cutting.

Can easily be done if you are in a 500+ caloric deficit every day (500x7=3500) and have a decent amount of fat to lose to start with.

^^^ One of my buddies uses that. Might have to bum a scoop off of him.
Thinking about trying some Dust Extreme. Has DMAA in it. |

I was speaking more specifically. 2300-2000=300 x 14 days= 4200. So he would lose just over 1 pound from knocking off 300 calories a day, not the 2 he was talking about. He could definitely lose 2+ pounds in two weeks, though, I agree.

Do you burn fat more easily if you're a complete fatshit or if you've got a decent amount of muscle but not much fat?

Fatshits burn it more quickly/easily cause they can run on a higher deficit and generally aren't concerned about losing muscle. Someone with a lot of muscle is going to risk losing some (and strength) at a high deficit. A lot of the hardcore lifters I know don't go much below maintenance when they're cutting so the fat comes off slowly. Been years since I've had a decent amount of muscle but when I was cutting I would never go below a 500 cal deficit. It really depends on what your maintenance is and how much muscle you're willing to lose. I'd guess they would both lose at the same cals/fat loss ratio. But there are probably people on here more informed about it than I. Eventually, you're cutting into cals your body needs to run itself.

Sweet hamburger meat chest hair you got therr billay. Impressive.
I myself have dropped about 25 lbs since graduating dental school. Eat better, ride the bike 3 times per week etc. But the best weight loss is the stress of having 2 kids under 3, running a business and all that comes with that. |
