I disagree.

The Chiefs need to cut Avery ($3.5), Fasano ($1.9), DeVito ($4) and Mays ($3). That's total cap savings of $11.9 million. That should cover Houston's salary.

They need to cut or restructure Hali and Bowe. If they're cut outright, they'll save another $14 million.

If cut, Bowe counts $9 million towards the cap, so IMO, they should ask him to restructure for 2 years at $10 million with maybe a $1 million signing bonus. So that alone would save another $3 million or so. If Hali is cut, there's only about $3 million in dead money so it's difficult to predict if he'll restructure at a more reasonable rate of $4 million per or they cut him outright. Either way, they'll likely save $9 million.

Then, there's Eric Berry. He'll likely go on the NFI, which doesn't count towards the cap, so the Chiefs will save another $8 million towards the cap.

So the total cap savings would be somewhere around $30 million. And my dopey projection doesn't include restructuring or cutting DJ's $5 million dollar salary.

So IMO, there's no reason to cut Daniel to create cap space. If he's not on the Chiefs roster, it's because he's been traded, which can't be negotiated until the new league year opens in March.

In a perfect world he's finally given up on playing QB and we're exploring the idea of turning him into a really tall Hines Ward.

I see this as Dorsey and his crew have looked at the upcoming QB class and outside of the top two who they have no shot or intentions of getting, there is no real intriguing candidates that they would be interested choosing in the mid-to-late rounds (as Andy usually likes to do).

Pryor probably offers just as much if not more potential as any of the available QBs, and instead of wasting a pick in this years draft, they went ahead and got this years "project" as soon as possible so he can get used to Andy's playbook, by which all accounts have said is one of the deepest and complex in the league, and Pryor isn't exactly known as the brightest guy.

If I were to bet money on who this directly affects most, it would be Bray, the current "high ceiling project" QB that they have on the roster.

Chase has done nothing to warrant being outright cut, so that idea needs to die now. The only way he is gone is via trade, which actually is not as farfetched as some may feel because of the lack of talent in this years draft. Someone is going to need that inexpensive quality backup/borderline starter type that Chase brings to the table (looking at you Buffalo) and I think they've been grooming Murray to replace him from day one anyways.

Can't wait to hear how they showed them around Arrowhead..."here is the field we don't win shit at" and over here look it is where a guy blew his brains out. Welcome to the winning tradition!

He sure is talented.
I do trust Seattle, though. Why wouldn't they at least keep him as a backup considering he costs nothing. Hopefully he realizes he has no future as an nfl qb. If he decides to play receiver, he has really good raw talent to be pretty good.

Hali has got to go, knee problems, he's lost a few steps and he wasnt fast before, he just had an insane motor. Its time for the Ford to take over. Just be done with it, no restructuring nothing. Its time to part ways. They drafted Ford for this exact scenario, time to execute.

Bowe im iffy on. I would like to keep him, but if im Bowe, i would hope they would cut me so i can go to a team with a goood QB.

This offseason is goign to be fun, hopefully they build up that Oline and draft a WR. I dont think we would be signing anyone worth a damn though.

You had good post until you got to that last paragraph.

1.Chase makes too much money to be a backup QB.

2. Nobody is giving up shit for him.

As the 4th highest paid backup QB in the league, he's done nothing to warrant being kept. It also means his trade value is being overrated here.
