it's not the system per se, but how it's applied that's effective.

Both Mooch and Marty Morningwheg failed in Detroit with the closest variant to Reid's version of the WCO, fwiw.

I think the failures in detroit might have been influenced by the terrible team Matt Millen built and the QB he forced on both of those coaches (Harrington). Morningwheg was outright opposed to Harrington, but Millen forced him on his coach anyway. It's a total straw-man.

**** you, I want a super bowl victory. Anything less is an outright failure at this point.

I thought I just wanted a playoff win to get the monkey off my back, but...**** that; I want a Goddamn Super Bowl win. And Andy Reid...is what he is. Marty Schottenheimer Pt. II - a guy who can win reg season games out the ASS, maybe even a playoff game or two. He could take us to 4 straight Afc championship games, even a Super Bowl appearance.

But he is what his record says he is. He did the same thing here this year, that he has done for the past 15 years in Philly or whatever. He's gonna keep us respectable and competitive, sell lots of tickets and keep red-and-gold clad asses in the seats...

but is he really the guy to take us to the Promised Land?? I don't care what his GOALS are; history says he is not.

No. I'm talking Andy the OC. Vermeil never called one play. I think going from grandpa Muir to Andy is huge no pun intended.

That's my point; it depends more on the situation and how the system is applied more than exactly what system is being used.

no.

Dick won a Super Bowl in his previous stop.

Andy's big claim to fame is 4 straight Nfc championship APPEARANCES, a few division titles and a lone Super Bowl appearance.

not exactly HOF-caliber stuff so far, really, as a body of work.

Kinda like Marty.

Right. I think it pointed out when he hired he struggled without Jim Johnson as DC. We just need to find our Jim Johnson. I think Philips could be that guy. Sutton is more Castillo.

he also fired a young Sean McDermott who now is the coordinator of one of the best defenses in the NFL in the Panthers.

The point is, Andy doesn't know a good or bad defensive coordinator since Jim Johnson if it slapped him in the face. He just fires everyone, and then gets a shittier one to replace them.

But Reid is literally loyal to a fault. Ot probably cost him his job in Philly.

he is loyal until he has to throw people under the bus. He threw a lot of people under the bus those last couple years in Philly.

But then again, these aren't "the last years" here and he probably has a huge leash from Clark. Clark is loyal to fault and will keep Reid way passed his expiration date. (see: Clarks loyalty for Fat Scooter)

Right. That's why I pointed out in another thread that could be a huge flaw in giving a HC too much power such as in the current system the Chiefs use. This is where a GM/Owner should step in and say sorry but your pal isn't going to cut it, Andy.
