Press conference

@ArrowheadAddict: Dorsey: We feel very fortunate that Alex will be a member of the Chiefs franchise for years to come.

@ArrowheadAddict: Dorsey: Since the beginning of this process, we've always had our eye on Alex.

@ArrowheadAddict: Smith: I'm ready for this.

@ArrowheadAddict: Smith: I can't say how excited I am for it. Thankful for the opportunity.

I Agree with this tweet:

@Lance_THESPOKEN: Dorsey said the reason they signed Alex is because quote "He's shown he can play football at a very high level." WHEN????? #Chiefs

THE BEST ONE OF THEM ALL:

@Lance_THESPOKEN: Yes, Andy Reid just said they're gonna "work on getting Alex Smith in the Hall of Fame." Take it as you will, I didn't make it up. #Chiefs

They're already sold on Smith, way to keep your options open dick suckers:

@APdaveskretta: Andy Reid: "I'm going to tell you every position we try to create competition ... but I'll tell you, Alex is the starting QB" #Chiefs

Let me know when he's gone, I'm done with this shit organization.

@DannyParkins: Talked to #Chiefs GM John Dorsey away from the media and he says it's absolutely fair to say they view Alex Smith as longterm answer at QB.

That's insane.
I'd just like for you "crybabies" to stop acting as if your taints were ripped to shreds because the Chiefs traded for the best available option in 2013.

I'd recommend watching it.

There are three disparate personalities on display, IMO.

1. Andy Reid, who's ridiculously confident.
2. Alex Smith, who seems to be uneasy and slightly uncomfortable, yet tries to pretend he has some sort of comfort level with Kansas City.
3. John Dorsey, who IMO, comes off as a hybrid between Carl Peterson and Scott Pioli.

It's interesting, to say the least.

Only with some of the fan base. The vast majority of this site are against the trade but other Chiefs boards, the majority seem to be okay or fine with the deal.

But those other sites and fans will turn on him pretty quick if he stinks up the joint. If he comes in here and throws a good ball, doesn't turn it over and they win....... even this site will rejoice in being wrong.

Alex Smith will win over 60% of the fan base by mid-season with his play. Then lose 90% of those fans in next years draft. Unless a Super Bowl is imminent, you'll always look for something better than Alex Smith.

I think you read their body language completely wrong.

The fact of the matter is that 99% of the fan base LOVES these moves, especially the move for Smith.

It's only 12-15 or so outspoken members of Chiefsplanet, that continually spam each and every thread with Jeno's Pizza and bring up Alex Smith's numbers prior to having an actual coaching staff in place, that are unhappy.

Venture anywhere else and you'll find plenty of happy campers.

I've only seen 1 press conference w/ Dorsey but he seems genuinely awkward when being interviewed/asked questions on the podium.

He's never had to do any sort of PC prior to this, so the awkwardness is understandable. As long as he knows how to evaluate talent, he can take a shit on the table at ever PC and I won't care.

And this is the truth of the matter: As much as people didn't love the Trent Green trade on Chiefsplanet (me included), once the team began to win and the offense soar, everyone forgot that the Chiefs could have drafted Drew Brees instead of trading for Trent Green.

It was only the failure of the front office to find average to above average defensive players that the fans turned on Carl and Dick.

I wanted Geno too. I think we overpaid for Smith. But, I'm willing to wait till mid season before going full throat WTF on the Reid/Dorsey era.

I'm with you this. Alex Smith could turn out to be the wrong move, but on the other hand, he might really excel under Andy Reid. I'm excited for the season and the new regime.

Everyone is acting little ****s and IS so annoying.

What I find obnoxious is that that opinion is now being lumped in with people who supported Cassel last year as "true fans." Giving the new guys a chance to prove they know what they're doing <> assuming they will always know what's right forever.

If the Chiefs win a single playoff game, the price of a 2nd round pick will have been worth it to this franchise and their fan base, especially if you consider there have been only three such wins in 42 years.
