Alex Smith just wins!

Props for the QB who always finds a way to win. Things weren't going our way in the first half but he didn't quit and found a way to lead us to victory.

Fans would fire everyone every year. Fans opinions don't mean much. Fans wanted to run Dee Ford out of town a couple weeks ago. Fans hated Fisher. Fans wanted to back up a Brinks truck for Bowe.

We definitely need to draft a QB and prepare for the future but the hand wringing about smith is a waste. He's here for this year and probably another.

Andy Reid and his moronic play calling and clock management are this team's primary problem. Lack of discipline and flags by offensive linemen are another - which is a discipline problem which is also Reid's problem. The run defense is another problem. Smith is way down the list.

What are we supposed to do, play Foles? Foles had us all clammoring for Smith last week. He's washed out of two teams before with plenty of playing time. He is not the answer.

Bottom line, Smith is our QB... ride or die
It's not his typical game, but it's typical for him to have a couple of games like this a season. Houston and today this year. Chicago and Oakland last year. Tennessee and Buffalo and San Francisco two years ago. Etc.

He usually has an equal number of really excellent games where he plays like the QB Andy Reid thinks he is all the time. And the rest of it? Meh crap where he doesn't make mistakes but doesn't make the offense hum, either.

I don't know why people keep expecting something different. This is the QB he has been since 2011. That's a lot of games, and most of them in KC.

In 2013, he flashed some playmaking ability on the back half of the schedule and played well in the playoff game, and people hoped he had turned a corner. He hadn't.

In 2014, he was flawless in leading the Chiefs to a win against the Pats and people hoped he had turned it back on. He hadn't.

He never really had that moment last year, but the game against San Diego this year again had people hoping he'd FINALLY figured it out and was ready to roll. He hasn't.

He is what he is. If the Chiefs can get the defense playing at a truly elite level (and that would require them plugging a pretty big leak in the run game and also somehow making big improvements at CB), and the running game can be dominant, he's good enough to Dilfer his way to a SB.

But it's awfully hard to win that way, if you're never able to count on your QB making big plays when it matters. Even when Brady or Manning were winning game manager style, they still were able to make big throws in tight windows in key moments.

Alex Smith has not shown an ability to do that consistently, despite all the Ws his team has racked up with him starting under center of late.

I want to know where this "Andy Reid, QB GURU" is at or "Andy Reid, Offensive Genius".

NONE of the QBs in KC under Andy Reid have looked polished or fundamentally sound.

Our offense has never looked smooth under Andy Reid.

Our offensive line has been relatively healthy this year and it's still sloppy. Andy Heck, what in the **** are you doing all day?

What does everyone think of our Dline this year under Andy Reid's brat? Any difference?

Yep...this team had no business winning this game...the defense scored the only TD, there were no offensive plays in Carolina territory until the very end of the first half, and the offense is like 3 for 35 on 3rd down the last two weeks. There is NO way that this offense can sustain this shit performance in the playoffs and win.

The starting lg is out for the year, Schwartz and ldt have bum ankles and have missed games iirc. Not.much cohesion there.

I don't know why the offense sucks. I think I know why, but that's been rehashed here over and over.

So to be a quality Oline we need everyone to be perfectly healthy every snap the entire year?

Dallas has had injuries along their oline too

Every snap all year? No.

But Dallas is the exception here. There's what, 3 first rounders and a 2nd there? They have expanded alot of resources there and are certain ly the class of the league. They've also been together for a few years.

The Chiefs have had a slow built ol, seemingly 1 piece per year and they just haven't gelled. Although the panthers front 7 is one of, if not the best in the nfl and the chiefs averaged almost 5 ypc today. So that's nice.

I think it's a combination of it all. Smith holds the ball/ is a bit timid to let it go and gets hit a bit. Because of that, the defensive front plays really aggressive and our ol doesn't handle it as well.

When smith gets hit a little, he seems to get even more timid ( I thought he looked rattled today, all day). Which I'm guessing is expected after getting his head rattled in indy.

Everyone knows that Smith is a problem.

But is it Alex Smith's fault that Oline false start or a WR drops a pass that hits him right in the dick or right in the chest? Was it Alex Smith's fault that Kelce threw a towel at the ref?

There is just way too many issues IN ADDITION to a weak QB.

I haven't seen anything to indicate that our coaches are anything special.

team is soft as shit

DJ and Berry are really the only guys who hit hard at all.

No reason that Kelce shouldn't get more touches.

The entire thing is just frustrating.
