LSU announces settlement with former football coach Les Miles

http://www2.kusports.com/news/2018/n...-les/?football

Quote:
LSU and its former head coach Les Miles reached a financial settlement Thursday that clears a path for Miles to take another head coaching position.

The 65-year-old Miles has been considered a top candidate for the Kansas football coaching vacancy since Jeff Long, KU’s athletic director, announced David Beaty’s firing on Nov. 4.

According to a press release from LSU, both the school and Miles, who was fired in 2016, agreed to a “one-time lump sum payment of $1.5 million of the $6.5 million remaining in the original agreement, which would have been binding until 2023.”
This says to me that the guy is ready to get back into coaching. I think he will be coaching next year, whether that be at KU or somewhere else.

As an offensive coordinator, yes. DO NOT WANT, as head coach

Couldn't win the Nicholls Bowl - but at least won the Horned Toad bowl! (it's not a Frog - it's a ****ing toad - and they claim to be of higher education)

Les Miles squandered a lot of talent for years. LSU was right to fire him, they just made a baffling choice in his replacement.

We're Kansas.

We'll take Les Miles.

Anyday. Any time.

It's a little different than the Charlie Weis situation. Les Miles has sustainable success and has proven he can build programs (at Okie State too)

Les Miles is exactly the type of hire Kansas needs... big name, will excite the program, and a good recruiter.

Obviously he has his limitations as a championship caliber HC, but wouldn't building a program that is consistently bowl eligible and wins 7-8 games a year be enough to satisfy KU fans as they pass the time until basketball season begins each fall?

I'll take 7 wins a year all day everyday.

We will be better next year because we will lack the incompetence we had prior. Big question now is who will the O coordinator be?
