If I'm Manning, I retire now.

I wouldn't wanna play anymore if it's gonna be at a level I'm not accustomed to playing. Much respect though. Great career. But father time is undefeated.

No clue.

But no one agrees because they have irrational hate towards Peyton Manning. No other reason.

I laid out a thread full of facts surrounding Brady's postseason after Spygate and all anyone did was plug their ears and "la la la la la" rather than actually looking at the facts presented.

But I learned that Tom Brady started out his postseason career 9-0 during the Spygate era and won 3 Super Bowls behind one of the best defenses in recent memory ... and he did all of that by not having any weapons *allegedly*
It has nothing to do with success. He's a flaming douchebag.

I don't hate Brady, Flacco, Eli, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, or Brees. I don't hate Wilson. I don't hate Cam. I don't even hate Rivers.

I hate Cutler. I hate Manning. I hate Luck. I hate Dalton. I hate Johnny Foosball.

I hate douchebags.

Wilson has both a better running game (or are you going to argue Antowain Smith was better than Marshawn Lynch?) and quite possibly a better defense than Brady did during his SB runs.

I don't argue, and never have, that the Patriots three Super Bowls were won solely on the awesomeness of Brady's unbelievable arm. Those were very, very good teams.

Manning also had very good teams but for whatever reason, repeatedly those teams managed to blow it. Repeatedly. I think Belichick may be the GOAT coach, and therefore none of Manning's coaches were as good as what Brady had. But I do think Dungy was a very good if not great coach, and there were some years they had truly excellent defenses to support Manning. And yet they still wheezed out in the playoffs.

Football is ultimately a team game. Part of what makes your entire argument ridiculous is that you are constantly cherry-picking statistics and situations. Sometimes its QB versus QB (Brady lost to Flacco! Lost to Sanchez!!). Sometimes it's the team (Manning never had any defenses! His coaches sucked!) Sometimes it's stat selection (ignore years when Brady had success!!)

Your entire argument is a house of cards. I'm not even sure you know what you're arguing FOR anymore anyway.

Do you actually have a main premise anymore? What is your ACTUAL argument?

so you'd take 9-8 and 0-2 in Super Bowls over 11-13 and 1-3 in Super Bowls

you'd take 0-2 in head to head AFCCG matchups

I guess I'd take the latter ... of course, Manning didn't lose too many best friends so that is a bit unfair

He's also currently tied with Elway for most Super Bowl appearances by a QB in NFL history. A win next weekend, and he'll hold that record by himself, too.

C'mon. It wasn't spygate. Everyone knows the secret was the Weis/Crennel combo!

but coldhardbostonhomerfootballfacts.com article you parade around as fact doesn't cherry pick stats at all

My premise?

It's easy.

Tom Brady fans, mainly Patriot fans, are total hypocrites when it comes to the narrative that Peyton Manning is a playoff choker.

I'm cheering for it.

I think Tom Brady deserves to have a real Super Bowl to compliment his outstanding career.

Your cherry-picking years to include/exclude holds no water with me. None.

“We didn’t lose the game because of any 'Spygate,' because of them having any additional things,” Cowher told 93.7 The Fan on Wednesday. “[If] they’re guilty of anything they’re guilty of arrogance because they were told not to do something but it was something everybody does. They got caught doing it with a camera.”

Cowher, who coached the Steelers from 1992-2006, said what the Patriots did happened regularly in the NFL before the league allowed coordinators to relay plays to their quarterback and defensive signal-caller via a helmet radio.

“Stealing someone’s signals was a part of the game and everybody attempted to do that. We had people that always tried to steal signals,” said Cowher, whose 2004 team won 16 consecutive games before losing to the Patriots in the AFC title game. “What happened when we lost that game is they outplayed us. It had nothing to do with stealing signals or cheating or anything else.”

I will say that if Brady does lose to Luck or Rodgers/Wilson, his legacy will be no where near what it should be and the narrative will become one that forgets his early success and focuses on his latter year track record of coming up just short. Sort of like Manning outside of one year has become an analogy to Marty Schottenheimer, Brady's latter years would become an analogy to Andy Reid.

If he wins it all this year, with 4 rings and 6 SB's, all we're going to hear about is GOAT...

Peyton and Tom have made careers out of giving their respectful teams great chances at Super Bowls year in and year out.

They have both won their divisions basically every year, they have both hosted a ton of home playoff games, they've been to 8 combined Super Bowls, probably like 15-16 championship games combined...

One guy, unfortunately, was tarnished a bit by a horrible cheating scandal that was so damning the NFL deemed it necessary to destroy evidence ... but, other than that...

both have been an absolute joy to watch!
