Anyone watching True Blood? Watched the first couple of episodes on HBO. I like it.

The HBO show and the books kind of follow the same path, but there are big differences. In the books,

Eggs is a werewolf. And Jason does indeed get heavily involved with those religious nutjobs, but LaFayette and Tara play pretty small roles.

I was thinking that if she cut the heart out of the Voodoo woman that she needed it for some sort of spell, like maybe summoning something powerful, and that Tara and her boyfriend fit into that somehow. I hope I’m wrong though, if the show is that predictable I’ll get bored with it quickly.

Seriously. That, to me was the grossest part of the show. And I hate that there won't be as many sex scenes with Jason.

She's a Maenad.

In Greek mythology, Maenads were the female followers of Dionysus, the most significant members of the Thiasus, the retinue of Dionysus. Their name literally translates as "raving ones". Bacchus was the god of the grape, of course, so bars are very interesting to maenads. In fact, so interesting that they don’t like other creatures of darkness becoming involved. Maenads believe that the violence sparked by the consumption of alcohol belongs to them; that’s what they feed off, now that no one formally worships their god. And they are attracted to pride.”

Sam was obviously frightened by her, and giving her the money was a "tribute" to her. But she tells him that's not what she wants... so something else is going on there. I think she's affecting Sam a little bit already... He's getting moody. I think she may be slowly driving him mad. She feeds off the madness basically.

There were several pictures of maenads around Maryann's house. Including the huge one that Sookie and boytoy were looking at across the pool. If I remember correctly, it was this pic, which is Pan and a maenad...

That wasn't Sookie. That was Tara. Other than that, I think you're on to something.
