I disagree. UConn wasn't missing any free throws. UK's only chance was to play solid D and perhaps create a turnover.

UConn shows just how critical FT shooting can be.

Tonights championship most certainly surpassed football's title game.

You're a strange little man.
There is nothing u can post that will make it reach football level in this country. Game over man game over

Hellacious road for both teams, whoever won was going to have one helluva run. Thankfully college football is getting a playoff so they can join the rest of the sporting world in crowning a true champion.

UK didn't have the time to allow UConn to run clock like that. Even if they were able to get a stop, you're still looking at 20 seconds left and down 2 possessions.

They had nothing to lose by fouling and extending the game out many more possessions (there was a 1/5 chance UConn would miss on their attempts). It's not like they also couldn't have tried for turnovers while doing so.

Uconn made all their FT tonight and nearly all this whole tourney. Fouling was a hopeless strategy. Cal was right

They're a 77.7% FT shooting team (which is fantastic for college). But that also means they're going to miss 22.3% of the FTs they take . After Harrison fouled to put them into single bonus under a minute left, it was the only legitimate strategy they had left. What they ended up doing (playing it out and then fouling anyway) was foolish. You have to extend the game there.

Did anyone watch the Moments of March Madness special this past weekend? They interviewed the Stanford Tree during the SW16 section. Just saw him in his costume, but did hear him speak in voiceover. You guys won't believe this, but on his voice alone, I 'm pretty sure it was this guy.

Still though, it doesn't make sense for Cal to leave his cushy gig in Lexington to go join the Lakers' trainwreck, in a league where he's already failed, only for Kobrick to immediately quit on him and get him fired.

He wouldn't leave for that train wreck. He would only leave if LeBron goes there, I suspect.

Small sample size (unless you truly believe UConn's true talent level is to shoots FTs at the same rate of the greatest FT shooters of all time). You take the full season if you want the better, fuller picture about what to expect with a stat like that.

It isn't even just about the FTs, though. Extending the game with more possessions means more chances for turnovers.

It set the game of basketball back decades! Of course, I'm glad that two days later Stanford and KU played a vintage game for the ages.
