*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

I started lifting again this morning. I intend to hit them hard... I've hit them hard in the past for wrestling and just for a hobby and to look big....anyways, not to brag, but I put the mass on pretty quickly. I'm excited to see it again for it's been a few years.
Used to bench 335....for about a year there in my early 20's. I want to pass that. Anyways, I ordered this pre-workout stuff called NO Xplode. Do any work of you have experience with this? I don't. I don't have experience with any pre-workout supplements. I only used to use Creatine, Nitro Tech and Cell Tech in the reg when I was lifting. And for about a year when I was 19, I used this "monster mouth spray" or something like that. So any thoughts on NO Xplode? What are the go-too supplements these days??? Really hopin' to get my Zeus back on!!!! |

Side note: After this morning's workout, I can barely move my arms. I mean, they are like rubber. Never felt quite like this. I stopped working out when my oldest daughter was born about 5 years ago....I think so had one little phase between then and now where I've hit the weights somewhat hard. Kids consume a lot of your time and energy.

What do you guys do to isolate triceps?
Overhead tricep raises end up hurting my elbow and I hate doing extensions with the rope contraption. |

Reverse flyes are killing me right now. Doesn't hurt anything, I just don't have the strength. Just started lifting again for the first time in about 5 years. Didn't realize I got this weak. |

I can't post links yet, apparently, but google "tricep dips" and some good stuff comes up. The bodybuilding.com link is how I do them.
Big thing for me is making sure my torso is upright. I feel it in my chest way more if I lean at all. Last edited by ShiftyEyedWaterboy; 02-16-2017 at 03:01 PM.. |

Money in the bank, Virus. Isolating with shitty things like kickbacks and pushdowns really isn't needed. Pushdowns I'll maybe use as a finishing move. |

Anyone have a heavy duty canvas duffle bag they would maybe sell me if they don't use it?
I am looking to make some sandbags and do some backyard workouts for conditioning using it. Trouble is it will get dropped on gravel or pavement and I have nothing that I think will hold up to that. Some of the bags online are dumb expensive. I don't want to buy a pre-made bag as I want my sandbags to be about 10lbs each and I can make those myself. I'm looking cheap here (jewdog). |
