I have a weird obsession with that era of Chiefs football. What if I told you your favorite football teams gets a FO guy from the most dominant franchise in the modern era, what could go wrong? 30 for 30: A Chief Fraud |

Doesn't change the fact that I think we are paying too much for some pretty average safeties, though. I would rather take the 9 million(average) dollars per year that we are paying Parker/Sorenson and sign 1 stud for 9 million, then draft a safety in this year's draft. Some damn good safeties in this draft.

Hodges still hasn't signed anywhere.
I'm assuming at this point that he's hanging around, waiting for post-draft to have needy teams beg him. What would you put the odds he ends up in KC? We opened up enough cap space to land him... |

A 1 yr deal for $2.3 million (with only $700K guaranteed) for a guy coming off a pro-bowl season doesn't do anything at all to help Hodges value. He'd be lucky to see $1.5 at this point, IMO. Yeah, he's probably hoping for a post-draft deal but it's still not going to be a good one. Frankly, if the draft doesn't go how he hopes, he could end up looking at a backup job somewhere. He'd be wise to get back on the horn with Dorsey and see if they can work something out. It's just too nice a fit for him here and even if it's only a make-good contract, there's ample opportunity for him to build market here.

Didn't keep up with much of the draft talk this evening as I was out, but do you think the Chiefs would have taken Cunningham in round two before the Texans nabbed him? Maybe Houston did this to piss off KC for swiping Mahomes from them....
I think the Tanoh pick may quietly be a beauty though. |
