Morse just might be that good. I'd read reports before the draft that had him going in the second round as a left tackle, so clearly, he has some potential to be a great football player.
I still say the fact that there was no way to be found to get Kush on the field last year so that we didn't have to see McGlynn out there is the statement that Kush is useless.

The fact that Morse has already beaten him in camp is just further support of that statement.

Can't remember for sure, but don't think he was a first year player. It was early on though.

Line got jumbled around a lot as injuries ravaged the Tigers first season in the SEC. He did go in there in a pinch.

He struggled a lot with snaps and setting up to block post snap all season long. He's a quality blocker, but I wouldn't put him at C and I am surprised a non zone squad like KC took him.

Hopefully we run a ton of zone this year. Jamaal really thrives in ZBS.

Since the middle of 2013, the Chiefs have reverted back to much more zone scheme.

Since being drafted, Morse has worked on his snaps, and with coaching from the start of rookie camp and into TC, it is very possible his snap issues can be fixed.

They've reverted back some out of necessity.

Morse is a good learner and a hard working kid, but ****. Are we going to depend on Andy Heck to have this kid ready? He will probably be fine in the long run, but Wilfork is gonna flatten him Week 1.

Wilfork is out isn't he?

As for relying on Heck, we have to.

I stand solid on that statement.
They certainly ended the season with top 3 statistics, but I don't think I could agree with that assessment given our horrendous run defense.

At any rate, I expect some things to get better and others to get worse.

We likely won't get such stellar production from Sean Smith and Justin Houston. We'll likely struggle with the loss of Poe. We'll likely experience some growing pains with rookie CBs.

We'll likely force more turnovers. We'll likely be better against the run.

It'll be interesting to see how this defense performs. They were great last year and overachieved, in my opinion. We've added a lot of new guys and got a few returning as well. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

I'd feel this way too if this was the only barometer.
But like has been said, every indication points to gutter trash.

I'm expecting old man DJ to be huge in run support. His anticipation of, and penetration of running lanes weren't made possible only by his physical talents.
he's got a nose for the ball in traffic, unlike earlier in his career.
And if Berry comes back to 85% of himself, the days of running down our throats will be over.

I completely disagree that we overachieved. The <30 every game and no 300 yard passer thing isn't the anomaly. The turnover stat is. You don't do that for 16 games bc you overachieved. You do that bc you play smart, technically
sound, mistake free defense.
