I know the $30 mill number is pretty, but looking at the guarantees it would seem Parker got shafted somewhat. That deal basically makes him earn his roster spot every year.

So based on your statement that Abdullah starts, you think Branch will be the sub-package safety rather than Abdullah but that Abdullah actually rotates into that spot for the Nickel? Eh, I could see that, but you significantly reduce your run-defense in your base and needlessly complicate things, IMO.

I think you get the best of all worlds with Parker/Branch. If Branch isn't playing well or gets hurt, you know you have a steady performer in Abdullah still.

Abdullah who is paid peanuts is not beating either guy out if they are both healthy, they are both faster and better. It's a GREAT trio to have though. Like top 5/top 3? in the league. I can't think of a better trio I'd rather have right now besides Seattles.

With only $8 million guaranteed, this is really a one year deal.
