Add in the fact that their strategy was to play homage to the original to attract GenX/Millennials and you have a recipe for success.

Jurassic Park is a perfect example of what Ghost Busters should've done.
I don't know if you remember, but the Ghostbusters movies weren't exactly aimed at children, but kids sure ate the shit up. Merchandise like crazy, back when they weren't so good at it. Then came a cartoon.

If you think there won't be a Lego game based on Ghostbusters, you're crazy.

Yeah i remember. When those movies were popular, i was really small. Like 4-6 year old small.

I had the car. That was the best ghostbusters toy. I would load the car up with Ninja Turtles and Batman action figures.

I'd be very surprised if it had that kind of success. The movie has to not suck if you want toys and cartoon spinoffs.

So far, it's not on an upward trend. They've seemed to turn off most of the franchise's fans with its casting.

I don't think you understand children. They want what is sold to them. Period.

It's not about a "good" movie, at 4-6, you probably didn't grasp the movie. You knew Slimer, Stay Puff, and guys with cool weapons fighting cool ghost bad guys. Not to mention the iconic movie logo.

The Hangover created Bridesmaids.

Hell they might as well throw Lena Dunham in there as a pink slimer or a rainbow marshmallow ghost.

They waaaaay missed the mark.

My wife has never in her life said, "Hey remember Ghost Busters?" or "hey, lets watch Ghost Busters again, i miss that movie".

With that cast, they have a very small, niche demographic.
My wife loves Ghostbusters. It's one of the few movies that she'll actually sit through.

If they are going full troll mode I wish they would throw in Wanda Sykes and Roz from Night court and make every white guy hate the movie.

The next thing you know there will be a Karate Kid 4 with a female role instead of Daniel Larusso and a separate remake, Black Karate Kid.

Didn't they already remake Karate Kid with Will Smith's kid?

EDIT: Here it is. Not sure if it counts as Karate Kid 4? Didn't see it, but was wondering if Chan was any good.
