Does this Chiefs team have a good chance to win the SuperBowl?
Losing Gronk is gonna hurt NEs chances.

KC already beat Denver and Oakland in their houses.

KC is getting Maclin, Nelson and Ford back...and might get Jamaal Charles back for the playoffs.

If KC takes care of business in the division and splits with ATL/Tenn, they have a real chance to get HFA. That happens, this team can beat anyone in the AFC at Arrowhead.

If they make it to the Super Bowl, they have a good chance to take down Dallas, Atlanta or Seattle.

Do you guys think this season has a good chance to end with the Lombardi trophy coming to KC?

My concern was that Smith's performance against Oakland was apex Smith; just ruthlessly, brutally efficient. I didn't think he could duplicate it.

Well I'll be damned if he didn't do exactly that. Against the two most potent offenses he's faced (or will face) all season, Smith was at his absolute best.

That absolutely means something.

13 points on a shit defense though.

I have had my heart ripped out and shown to my face so many times.... I am very reluctant to go all in just yet.

The offense is not good. Most people here understand that. They aren't going to score on Pittsburgh on the road in the playoffs.

The defense is living off mistakes that the caliber of teams you see in the postseason are not going to make very often.

This is the 1995 formula with a defense that is nowhere near what that defense was. Sad to say it, but that was a top ranked defense across the board, this one is hanging on for dear life apart from the turnovers.

A sustainable success would be if we learned how to stop the run, or someone besides Peters could defend the pass. As it stands, despite winning on a pick-two - after the defense coughed up what would have been the game losing score - no, nothing flukey is going on here - we don't have a defense that is going to stop a Brady or whoever. They can just keep an extra blocker or two and run all day or throw all day.

I actually don't think yesterday's win was lucky.

Yes, the 2 point INT was a lucky play. However, even if it was a 27-28 game, the offense already proved that they executed to move the ball and get us into FG position and win with a last second FG.

I honestly think we would have scored if Berry didn't make that unnecessary.

That team stepped up and executed in all 3 phases to grind out a win. To shrug it off to dumb luck is to rob them of what they battled for.

The more I watch this team I think (and I can certainly be wrong) that Alex Smith often looks like shit because Andy Reid goes into a shell and tries to stay close to the chest once he thinks he can win. When we need points it's not often that we can't/don't get them, and once we're ahead we NEVER go for the throat. I hate this.

But the more I'm watching the more I see KC as a team that is really hard to beat. We don't dominate anyone, and it always look like we find a flukey way to win, but we win.

I wish we went out and crushed people like that 18-1 Pats team a few years ago, but that's just not how this team does it. But shit, 19-3 over the last 22 games is ****ing insane. We are not going to be an easy out in the playoffs, ESPECIALLY if we're playing at Arrowhead.
