Possibly the best burger I`ve ever eaten localy.
Good friend of mine , Navy Vet, and all around great guy opened up a small cafe in KCK on 14th and Minnesota named "Johnny Jukes." Please allow me to shamelessly promote my buddies place. Johnny`s serves the best burgers in town, home cut fries (cut right in-front of you) and get this...KOOL AID! lol.
Johnny`s has a lunch, breakfast, and dinner menu . His specialty item is his hand patted half pound burger, served with home cut fries, but he also makes a damn good home made chicken sausage, chicken and waffles, and other tasty items! If you happen to find yourself near Johnny's It`s worth a stop. https://www.facebook.com/pages/JOHNN...59486560732119 1410 Minnesota ave Kansas City, Kansas 66102 (913) 248-5563 Last edited by ThatRaceCardGuy; 03-11-2013 at 10:37 PM.. |

Some of the best wings I've ever had were from Waldos pizza.

Had not had HiBoy in years and it was just "ok" certainly overpriced for what it was those onion rings are pretty good though.
Whoever mentioned Beer Kitchen having good burgers is right but BK has pretty much good everything. |

This is a weird recommendation but I stand behind it.
A burger at Brio on the Plaza. I was getting something fixed at the Apple Store and had time to kill so I went to the bar there to get a few drinks and got hungry but not enough for one of their full meals. They had a bar menu and a burger and chips on it for like 5 or 6 bucks. It was one of the better burgers I have had in a while...really well cooked with provolone cheese and roasted tomato mayonnaise. |

I'm a pretty classic burger kinda guy. I don't like those burgers with a bunch of stuff mixed into the patty - eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, etc. That's meatloaf. A burger should be meat, salt, and pepper.
But this recipe from James Beard is intriguing. Blog post: http://www.tastingtable.com/entry_de...ames_Beard.htm Recipe: http://www.jamesbeard.org/recipes/my-favorite-hamburger James Beard grates onion directly into the patty and uses cream to add richness. |
