Guy on the STL radio today was trying to sell a trade of Leake for Grienke. His point was that we take the trade because we don't give up prospects and we have plenty of money to eat the dead money at the end of the contract. Leake waives his no trade clause to go back home to Arizona.

If they would have started Reyes instead of Leake, we would have won that game. He has had fewer walks lately.

Reyes right now, is our 3rd best starter. Martinez starts the WC game. Waino game 1 if we win the WC. Who thinks someone else is performing better than Reyes to start game 2?

Yet, he stays in the bullpen.

Balls are flat with no late movement. That late movement is why he has been successful.

His time as a Cardinal is coming to a close. Why would we pick up his option for next year? We have 9 possible and 7 "real" starters to pick 5...
