Game of Thrones *Spoiler* Thread
There's been some recent confusion with the old spoiler thread, so I'm kicking off a new one for tonight's premiere. This is going to be the one for folks who've read all the books. So anything anybody might want to talk about is in bounds. Suffice to say, if you haven't read the books, you'll probably want to stay out of here until you do...
I'll bump the old spoiler-free thread shortly in case anybody's interested. For future reference the link to that one is here |

The setup scene with Oberyn and Tyrion was fantastic. That may have been an even better emmy moment for Dinklage than last week. I'm not sure I'm even going to be able to watch the trial by combat. That's always been the hardest sequence in the books for me. Ned's death and the red wedding were both spoiled for me before I read, so while they still had impact they weren't unexpected. I had no idea what was coming with the trial. Oberyn is such a fantastic character in the 3rd book, and it's written so he's winning, so when the mountain grabs him and just destroys him it was the worst gut punch for me. And it was hard to get myself to even read that part in ensuing read-throughs.
Should be some classic social media at the end of the episode in two weeks... |

Aw man they sort of ruined my favorite part of the book with the Lysa death scene.. they made it brutal instead of creepy.. Marillion being there was a key part of it, especially in the audio books

Dinklage is such a badass actor. He can go from last week where you can just feel the rage that he's showing....to this week where you can feel the sadness when Oberyn is talking about Cersei when he was a baby.

Had to be the shortest episode this season. Started my recording ten minutes late and still finished right at 9. Weak

I wonder how they're going to play that out now that there is no Marillion to blame for killing Lysa.

Re-watching the episode now. Man, that scene where The Hound kinda opens up to Arya is really powerful too. When he tells the story, you can see the wounded (physically and emotionally) little kid in him.
