Are we seriously getting into the ridiculousness where we're comparing fundamental team-based plays that are coached to death in all levels of the game, to the types of shooting that is only seen in street ball?

Again, I know Curry is a great pure shooter. Since somebody's going to get on my case (even though I've said he's the most dangerous offensive weapon in the game and probably the best shooter of all time). But a big chunk of his game is in hitting wild shots that most people aren't going to take or hit. Period.

You 100% agree with OldSchool claiming that Lebron isn't as skilled as Curry and is only a product of his athleticism? Really? That's a criminally wrong comment. The fact that people would elevate Curry up beyond Lebron is a testament to how ridiculous the hype machine behind Curry has gotten.

I'm no Lebron apologist. But Curry is not even remotely close to Lebron's level. Lebron will easily finish in the top 5 players of all time. Curry won't come close. Period.

The fact that you reference street ball means you still aren't getting it. Yeah I am being stupid in my comparisons but so are you when you say he is chucking 3's.

What Curry does is not chucking or luck. It is a 100% skill.

And yes most players aren't going to take or hit the shots Curry does and that is what makes him special. There isn't other players in the world that can do the same things like a Lebron, Durant or Westbrook can either. Durant said the other day he is a professional scorer and so is Curry. That is what we are trying to convey to you.

Why are you even asking this question given that I've already acknowledged a million times that Curry is an elite shooter and that that takes skill.

The prayer layup is a basketball play. It is one where the player is probably trying to draw a foul and make a shot in continuation. The prayer three pointer is one I don't want 99.9% of the people in the NBA taking. Hence, I don't enjoy watching it and I sure as shit don't want anyone but Curry practicing it. But Curry can hit it so as I've said, he should take the shot. And if I'm a Golden State fan, I'd be excited to watch it.

And no one is putting him on god status we just recognize he is the best pure shooter probably ever in the NBA.
Except that he's been compared to Lebron in this thread. He's been called most skilled of all time. He's a 2-time MVP. He's continually hyped for his ballhandling and overhyped for his defense.

He deserves to be celebrated as an offensive superstar. He is the best pure OUTSIDE shooter ever in the NBA. But there's also a ton of overhype just because the media treats him as completely untouchable.

Lebron is obviously very talented and is already one of the greatest NBA players of all time but where do the majority of Lebron's shots and points come from?

And when I say that Curry is the most dangerous offensive weapon in the game, that his shooting takes skill, that he should take the shots he takes because he hits them consistently.... Why do you keep coming back to this point that I'm saying Curry is unskilled?

He chucks up wild shots and he hits them consistently. There is nothing incorrect in that statement. Yes, hitting chuck shots takes skill. Of course it does. So does the handles to open up opportunities to hit them. It doesn't mean that I'm going to enjoy watching a guy hit a ton of these types of iso threes.

Are we only talking about shooting? I never said Lebron was a better shooter than Curry. Not even close.

But if we're talking about overall skill set, it's not even close... Lebron can do everything extremely well. Curry can do a few things exceptionally well.

Ok we agree that it is a skill just stop saying he chucks or takes wild shots and I will shut up about it.

In my mind and I believe in most people's minds the shots Curry takes aren't wild for him. They maybe wild for everyone else but for him they are just normal shots.

You asked me about why I agreed with Oldschool and I believe one of the things he alluded to was the fact that Lebron is a physical specimen and because of that he makes and takes the majority of his shots inside the paint area. Curry doesn't have that luxury and so it takes more skill (and I agree) to be a great jump shooter.

But LeBron's ball handling, body control, flexibility, quickness, court vision --- these things don't represent skills/work ethic beyond what God gave him? He doesn't get his "shots in the paint" by camping in the lane and dunking on people like Shaq. He uses an array of skills, along with God given talent, to take the best shots he can take. Curry's shooting and ball handling make him incredibly unique, but let's not pretend that LeBron is just Wilt in the '60's.

That's fine, but only because I think you know what I mean. I'm not sure everyone else does but I think you and I are mostly on the same page.

He will lose another one this year.

And he would lose if he switched teams with Curry.

He's a loser on the world's biggest stage and his parade of dicksuckers can't handle it.

He's a shit shooter outside the paint and it has cost his teams championships. And he's also massively overrated as a defender. For years I've heard about his legendary defense and every times he comes up against an elite player like Curry or Dirk or Kawhi (who shot goddamn .612 in that Finals against Miami) he does nothing to shut them down or prevent their team from rolling to a championship.

Fortunately for him he's made a career out of feasting on the pathetic eastern conference...if he was in the WC no way he makes it to so many Finals.

He's kind of like the Buffalo Bills of the NBA.
