They'll be the highest paid defensive players because they're the most valuable on that side of the ball... just as they've been for the past 25+ years.

To get the "rest of the story" we will have to wait and see what the contract looks like, but this will be Macks 4th year in the league. The average career length of a pass rushing DL or LB is 6 years according to the NFL. Mack definitely has more to give. The real questions are, how much longer can he produce as he has the last few years, is that production worth $25M a year average with a large portion guaranteed and how many years are going to be in the contract? He will be 30 in 3 years so anything beyond a 4 year deal seems as though it would have a high risk.
IF and yes it is a big if the Raiders hit on both of those picks then they will have won the trade. If they don't then they have lost.

And Houston didn’t even rush the passer that much compared to Mack and other premiere edge rushers..

Raiders are usually on the receiving end of these deals giving up multiple draft picks for "super star" players.

Mack is great but wasn`t carrying the Raiders or any team on his shoulder to any Super Bowls. In 2016 when Carr went down, so did the Raiders regardless of Mack.

Suh didnt carry Miami

Haynesworth didnt carry Washington

Again, he is a great player but you cant throw all your money on just 2 players and build a successful franchise.

This was a win-win for the Raiders and Mack......and likely a big L for the Bears

I think the Raiders simply don't have the 80 million to guarantee.

Mack probably wants one of these big ass heavily guaranteed contracts that are going around, and I think the Raiders legit can't afford him.
