On one hand, the "diversity" push for this series gives me concerns that the show runners are more concerned with a message and their politics than making a great LOTR series.

On the other hand, I really liked what I saw in this trailer.

Just like with everything else that looks like it could be good, I will go into it cautiously optimistic.

As long as it's good, I really don't give a shit about anything else.

I think it has potential to be good fantasy...but I am not sure it is going to be able to be good Tolkien.
