Cards vs. Royals weekend series

Question for the Royals fans. You want to keep the discussion in your daily game threads or do you just want to keep us Cardinal fans out of "your" threads?

or start a shared thread?

This is looking like the best time in our history that both of our teams have been playing at this high of a level when we played each other.

We went to the NCLS last year and you went to the WS but we were playing like shit when we played. This year we have the best record in baseball and you guys are just one game behind that record, correct?

Bring it on. May the best team win.

I mean, it's a simple concept right. I'm in my late 20's (1985 DOB) and if I had grown up in St. Louis I would have been a Cards fan for baseball and Chiefs for football since St. Louis didn't have a team. That covers a lot of ages then.
The normal ones became Chiefs fans. The epic doucherockets were Niner, Packer, Cowboy "diehards" that suddenly bled Ram blue when they won the Super bowl. The Chief fans in the area are some of the most loyal fans you will ever meet. You are right though, people around that age and their siblings make up most of that demographic.

I grew up in swmo. My dad was born and raised in Tulsa. I was born there in '77. We are both diehard Royals, Chiefs, and Sooners. Most of my buddies in the '80s were Royals fans. Living in Joplin there are more Cardinal fans now than there were 20'years ago. McGuire and steroids created thousands of the best fans in baseball.

Luckily myself and some friends who had some talent (played in college) are still Royals fans and are having the times of our lives as far as fandom is concerned. The bitterness towards Card fans exist due to many reasons, but primarily because they also liked the royals when we were young and only changed allegiances due to the bandwagon.

If you are going to spout off with this dumbass, narrow bullshit, you should probably get your facts straight.

The Royals were established in 1969.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Yep. I was there on Opening Day with my Pop - Municpal Stadium on Brooklyn Ave. My Dad had Joe Foy and Bob Oliver sign my tee shirt. I was just a tot and have no recollection of the game at all, but I was there.....

Here at the Lake of the Ozarks last night, there was Royals gear everywhere. Royals chants at the bars. Just unreal, never seen anything like it before. It's not like its huge KC area, its 30% KC, 30% St. Louis, 40% elsewhere. Royals fever is sweeping.

I went to high school in Iowa, went to college at the University of Iowa. Didn't want to pay out of state tuition. So that is why I am a Iowa fan.

I am a Royals, Chiefs, and Thunder fan because those 3 teams are the closest proximity to where I live and grew up. Only argument could be made that I could also be a Chicago, T-Wolves, or Nuggets fan as they are also a similar distance away. That is the only sport I have a choice in.

Makes perfect logical sense.

Compare that to Ed, who is 29. Born in Independence, spent some time in the Jackson County Penitentiary for Meth Use. Now works at Wal-Mart off of Noland Rd. But he's a Raider's fan in NFL, a Heat I mean Cavalier fan in NBA, St Louis Cardinal fan in MLB and also likes the Chiefs when they are winning. He also follows Manchester United, for no ****ing reason at all.
Oh, so you hate bandwagon fans. That's not what you said at all in your previous post.
