Everything you love about Brees doesn't happen behind this offensive line. Brees is far less mobile than Smith. If Brees has a solid line in front then yes, he's a better QB than Smith because Smith has been beaten into playing conservative football. If you can fix the line AND get Brees - then go for it.

This is only day 1 of the FA period so we've got a long march to the end. That said no QB is a top QB behind the horrid, HORRID offensive line we have right now.

This is the worst line this team has had since 89. I don't know if it goes back longer than that because that's when I started watching the Chiefs...

All of Brees' sacks were because he holds onto the football too long and doesn't understand concepts like dragon, snag and y-stick like Alex does.
