I'm no Nebraska fan, obviously. As such, I hope you fire Pelini. He's not a great coach, but he's an awfully good one. I still can't figure out how he does it, but he gets consistently strong recruiting classes, and he never has a bad season.

Anymore, college football is about having teams that are solid across the board and then plugging in a superstar like Manziel, Cam, Tebow, etc. and hoping that he can carry them team to a championship. Alabama is the exception, not the rule.

I'd be fine with that.
You say that now. What are your expectations for the next 7 seasons with Frost as head coach?

I'm betting it looks more like Kingsbury at Texas Tech than Spurrier at Florida.

I disagree that Nebraska couldn't get a big name coach because money talks though it would be harder than the schools mentioned.

The reason I disagree with Saul is the schedule. Yes its boring but its been a very easy schedule the last 3 years.

I absolutely disagree with hiring Frost. You're going to fire a guy who wins 9 games every year for a guy who's never been a HC and barley calls the plays at Oregon. That's Turner Gil all over again IMO.

I think Frost was an assistant here at UNI for a year or two. If he's who I'm remembering, he was a nice enough guy but didn't strike me as head coaching material.

I'm not a Husker fan, but I've always thought you need a used car salesman as your top guy (like Callahan) and then hire good coordinators.

Money talks, but everyone has money. Pelini makes a little over $3 million. That's what Tech pays Kingsbury.

This is such a pointless debate. I've said all that needs to be said about Bo, presented reasonable options, and have been met with the same re-hashed argument about 9 wins and the state of our program (from K state fans, no less).

I'm not the one championing Mullen, Harbaugh, or Tressel. My options are reasonable.

This has gone on far too long. It feels like a lot of K-state projecting more than anything.

FWIW, K-State has come a lot closer to a NC than Nebraska has in the last decade. I don't know why their fans would need to project.

Because that program will fall back to mediocrity after Bill Snyder retires for all the same reasons you stated + little tradition + average recruiting + much less money than Nebraska's program.

The Nebraska hate here is palpable, but KU, Mizzou, and K State sans Bill Snyder aren't traditionally strong programs.

High school prospects have seen a lot more success from KSU and Mizzou than Nebraska in their lifetimes.

Yet Bo gets some of the best recruits from their areas and guys like CL want him fired for some unknown former CEO.

You mean the mizzou and KSU who rank 49th and 63rd, respectively? I bet high school kids are eager to join those traditional powerhouse programs.

Yeah, surely our world-beating 30th ranked class is all due to Bo.

GTFO, man.

Some dude on Huskerboard is claiming atleast 2 out of 5 top boosters want Bo gone. Haven't really heard much though. I think he stays with slight staff changes made.

Hiring him doesn't preclude paying young, solid coordinators handsomely. Moglia already has a ridiculous amount of money.

Oh, and Bill Snyder is 75. Jim Tressel is 61. And Chocolate Hog is still a goddamn fool.
