Oscar Isaac as an X Wing Commander was very cool, especially as they were shooting over that lake.
Awesome visuals! |

I like the idea of the red lightsaber being a shitty one or something...since it obviously wasn't made by a real Jedi/Sith. Maybe it malfunctions during the movie. Plotsaber. Dude is fighting Luke, his lightsaber sputters and dies and Luke is all "LOL nice saber n00b."

Because the Sith died in Jedi.
This guy is trying to start up the Sith again...I could be wrong but that's how it feels to me.

What's funny is everyone seems to have a different opinion on who the voiceover is from. I've seen numerous comments that it's Serkis, Max Van Sydow, Adam Driver, or Benedict Cumberbatch.

Personally, I hope that Episode VII destroys the idea of "The Rule of Two", which obviously was nonsense since Palpatine has several "apprentices" throughout the galaxy including The Inquisitor. There just has to be more Jedi and Sith in hiding since the Clone Wars. |

I think maybe we'll get a dark force ghost encouraging a solo/skywalker child towards the dark side. Maybe Plagueis' ghost.

Benedict Cumberbatch would be the best guess out of that group but I think it could be someone else entirely. |

Also, while I see the bitching about the hilt guards on the saber being kinda silly, it's ****ing Star Wars. It's a cool, fresh take on a lightsaber. It looks cool, and that's really all that matters.
I do like the idea of it being a crudely made POS though. Like the new Sith has no idea what he's doing, and Luke shows up and basically shits on him. Which only further fuels his rage for future movies.

The thing that kind of worries me is that LucasFilm has repeated stated that Rebels has a direct tie-in to Episode VII. Ezra Bridger's path is very similar to Luke's in that his Force powers were discovered at a later age, which could lead to the Dark Side because emotions have not been mastered. I just hope that he's not one of the new Sith because it would be too obvious. The other thing is that a new Star Wars cartoon is being developed which will cover the territory because Jedi and Awakens. It's hard to believe that there won't be any Force users, Sith or Jedi, so it's likely that like the Jedi, the Sith have been in existence all along, with someone much more powerful than the Emperor truly pulling the strings. The other area of note, IMO, is that the Jedi in Rebels are far, far, far more powerful than the Jedi of prequels. I thought that the Jedi's powers were unexpectedly weak, based on Obi Wan and Yoda's descriptions to Luke. I appears to me that LucasFilm and Abrams agree and the Jedi and Sith will be far more powerful than previously shown. |

From what I was told, it was more of a "Trial Balloon" than bogus.
The most interesting thing about the trailer is that while we all know that the OT cast returns, none of them were shown. The new characters were front and center, which makes me wonder just how much of Han, Luke, Leia and Chewie we'll see. Personally, I couldn't care less about R2 and C3PO and I'm glad they weren't part of the trailer. |

I personally hope all these Jedi in Rebels get killed before the series ends.
