I am truly saddened as a Chiefs fan that once again, we are dealing with a difficult situation for one of our players.
From Joe Delaney to Derrick Thomas to Jovan Belcher and now Eric Berry, it puts the game of football back into perspective and shows that true life has a way of getting in the middle of fun. Hope things are not as awful as they initially sound and it probably is a big factor in his declining on field performance.

This. Sucks.
Prayers to Mr. Berry and his family. Let's lift his spirits by kicking the Broncos ass on Sunday night. |

They don't have a diagnosis. A mediastinal mass isn't a diagnosis, but an entity causing symptoms. It could be a thymoma, lymphoma, or a bunch of other less likely things. Yes, I agree he would be on IR regardless, but they don't have a definitive diagnosis.

And you can't diagnose this cancer with tests. If cancer is the answer, tissue is the issue. You need a biopsy with/without immunohistochemical staining depending on what you see initially.

He's a remarkable person. his parents deserve props too. Football aside he can make an impact to many and we need more young folks like him

I've never been so proud to wear my #29 jersey. He may be afraid of horses, but he's gonna kick lymphoma in the ass. Go EB!

Love this. It's funny, and shows you how cool he is while highlighting his equinophobia, for those who haven't seen it. |

My mother had Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and had to go thru stem cell and donor stem cell two different times. She has it at 65, came back and had to do donor when she was 67 and is now to years cancer free.
I have read and gone to MD Anderson and KU and have a lot of knowledge in this area considering it was all I could think about for three years of my life. If he ha Hodgkin's lymphoma then that's actually much better than Non-Hodgkin's because its easier to predict where its going next. Usually Hodgkin's lymphoma happens with kids but adults can get it too. If its Hodgkin's and the cancer reacts well to the drugs then he could be back next year if he wanted to. If its Non-Hodgkin's then its much more invasive and his odds would be very low. At this point the only thing that matters is that he takes care of himself and get well. God Speed Eric.. |
