We've seen about as much as we're gonna see of the team before the games count. I always think it's fun to lock in your predictions before the season. Assuming we can find this thread again in a few months, it will inevitably be bumped to either laugh at or cry about.

In the offense that Manning has been operating over the course of his career was to limit yac and get him to look for bigger plays through the air, forcing him to hold the ball longer than usual.

You limit yac with good tackling.

Andy's been doing this shit for YEARS. Jim Johnson and his monster defenses couldn't overcome it. Bob Sutton is no Jim Johnson, and this defense while impressive, will not be able to overcome that kind of shit either.

I don't believe his "big air strike" is going to land him much truck against KC this year.

The Ravens don't have a running game, neither do the Raiders. Pittsburgh is without Bell for the first four games of the year and their defense is old and shot.

The Green Bay game will be tough but they lost Nelson for the year, which negates the loss of Sean Smith and now Cobb is injured. Their defense is a sack of poo, too.



Teams have flaws. Every team the Chiefs face this year won't have the Dallas Cowboys offensive line, Aaron Rodgers at QB, three amazing WR's, DeMarco Murray at TB and the Bills defense.

The Ravens were a top 10 rushing team last season and their offensive line only gave up 19 sacks all year. They also have a monster linebacking corps. They're a horrible matchup for us.

The Bengals were also a top 10 rushing team last season and their offensive line only give up 23 sacks all season. With a strong defense, they're also not a good matchup for us.

Aside from Aaron Rodgers, I think we actually match up with Green Bay the best of all the good teams Duncan had us losing to.

So if in his day everyone agrees that Jim Johnson is a top 3 dc which he was, it's a stretch to say Sutton while managing most of the season without 3 of your better defenders is top 10?

I would never accuse Sutton of being the most creative guy I've ever witnessed. Same thing with Reid to a lesser extent. With these two, it's "stick to the plan and hope for execution".
