He also seems to think Nori Aoki will only make 1.2M next year on his next contract, and that Shields can be had for a 3 year contract if you pay enough.
These takes are all embarrassing, but the bolded one is the worst.

Jesus Christ, you're on the radio, but it takes 1.2 seconds to pull up a player's Baseball Reference page, which clearly states for you WHEN a player's arbitration years are over and he becomes a free agent.

This will be Holland's second arbitration year. He has one more (2016). He's not a FA until 2017.

Baseball contracts work on a pretty simple pattern that any radio host in an MLB city should be able to learn:

6 years of team control. Years 1-3: League minium/team determined salary; Years 4-6: Arbritration. The clock starts ticking the first time the player makes an MLB appearance. If you call a player up late enough after the start of the year, you can "game" the arbitration clock so you actually get like 6.75 years of control of him.

James Shields might sign a three-year deal if you pay him like it's a 4- or 5-year deal ($75 million+). KC can't do that.

If Cain goes to right you put Dyson in CF and you have the best defense in the history of MLB

Neither Dyson nor Rasmus is a guy you want playing against LH pitching.

If you sign Rasmus, you would almost HAVE to pair him with another OF option who can hit LH. Which means you're carrying 5 OF again and crunching the IF roster a bit.

That would make a guy like Cuddyer - who can play RF, 1B or even 3B or 2B in a pinch -a really perfect pairing for Rasmus.

I just saw this on BleacherReport. They have the Royals retaining Shelds.

I tried to post the grid but it looked like crap. You'll have to go to the link to see it.

AustinChief should create a script that auto-bans anyone who posts a link to BR, deletes their post and replaces it with an explanation.

I can't put much stock in an 'article' that projects the Cardinals to hand out a $100+ million contract to a SP in his 30s.

Anytime I see bleacherreport in a url I almost always change my mind about clicking the link, unless I'm going there purely for entertainment purposes where I don't expect to learn anything.

That lineup looks a lot different without Davis, Machado and Wieters that's for sure. What they have now isn't altogether better than ours. Their bullpen is pretty stout though.
