The impression I get is that there's an unhappy vocal minority but there remain a lot of people enjoying the game. But that's just from reading (between the lines) at various places around the web. And it's just a conspiracy theory of mine, but I'm not sure there isn't a concerted effort by another company (or other companies) to talk down the game in a variety of places where people get together to discuss it, including the game's own forums. That's not to say that the game doesn't have problems of course, but some of the reactions are just unbelievable, particularly on the official boards (and this is something that's been going on for years, not a new suspicion...). 'course, this isn't the first BioWare game where I've thought that might be the case. They have always had an extremely aggressive atmosphere on their forums, even going as far back as the baldur's gate games, but in recent years, starting around ME1, it's just gotten gradually worse and worse. Maybe it's just a wider audience, but you go on their forums for basically any game and you'd think they were the worst company ever making the worst games ever while they steal and eat babies as the world burns around them. And yes, I know that sounds crazy, but in today's online world, I think attacking games in that way is a logical step, and I'd be surprised if companies (including EA) hadn't been doing it for years, to try and feed on the mob-mentality and swerve public opinion as much as they can. Not everybody is going to like the same games, but the kind of angst-ridden reactions I've seen this week is kind of mind-boggling. It's like people (who generally all say they're MMO vets) have never experienced a patch before. |

Alot of people leave mmos after the first month, to come back after the shit thats broken gets fixed. MMo's always see a bit of a drop off. Now its up to Bioware to get shit fixed so the people that are playing can tell their friends that quit that the game is headed in the right direction.
Anyways, i canceled as well, but thats only cause i am switching form Debt card to credit card. haha |

I found I like the idea of being a marauder a lot more than I actually like playing a marauder.
Squishy, way too many abilities, too many cooldowns to keep track of, no CC, and a poor gap closer. PVP-wise, other classes have lots of CC and lots of ways to keep you from closing the gap. They need to combine a lot of the offensive abilities. Marauder can be played well but there are severe quality of life issues to address. |

It's going to be a hard sell just getting people to pay-to-play in the first half, with the number of ftp games out there, as half-assed as most of those games are. You also have a pretty big segment of people who see themselves as hardcore gamers who seem to play patch-to-patch. That is, you'd see a guy play the shit out of a game for two months and then disappear until a big update, and then disappear again until the next. Anyway, I think losing a chunk of players after the "free" month was probably always anticipated. We'll see what things look like in 6 months, or, as I've always posited as being the most important date, 11-12 months from now. I think the number of subscriptions at that point is going to be telling. I will say I'm a bit surprised (pleasantly) about how much and how quickly they're putting new content in. I didn't expect anything like the Rise of the Rakghouls 2-part patch until around that year mark, not in a storytelling sense. |

Google "fleet datacron". It takes 4 people, but to get the datacron itself you have to be 50.

If it's anything like the Empire one, the walkthrough is wrong at a certain point. I credit this to it being created during beta and never updated. You need at least 5 people, and it's definately more of a leap frog/wolf, chicken, chicken feed kind of deal. Also, you only need one 50, sub 50's can get it no problem as long as one 50 who hasn't gotten it yet is there. |

Yeah, I started collecting them all. I've done the first 4 planets already. I figure they are only +2 at a time, but add them all up and you have some nice, easy, free stat bonuses. Top that off with the +10 to all stats, and you are rocken.

Yeap, it's an awesome little stats boost. I do them all after I get done with all the quests on a planet. Some of them are pretty frustrating. I got super lucky on Tatooine - a helpful Vanguard was pulling people up onto the crawler so they wouldn't have to take the 40 minute balloon trip.

If they've made it now where sub-50s can get the datacron, then that's a change I actually don't like. |

I think I've gotten every datacron through quesh except for the one on Taris that requires two people to get. Some of them can be frustrating in terms of pipe jumping. |
