Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Well, I could argue against it in 2013 (way too many turnovers the past two seasons, declining skills, etc.).

But from 2004-2011? No way.

Or do you want to be an aristocrat who demands 4-2?

That's all i want, just give me the parameters of your wrath... just what is it going to take, regular season to get us into the playoffs, to say "hey, maybe its not the end of the world just yet!"

It's not so much stats as how confident you are in him. I wasn't on the Green band wagon early but I always felt he could win games. Not the best in the league but good enough to get the job done in a non Dilfer way.
If Alex can be a top 10 type qb we will be good short term. If not Reid loves to throw too much to not make a switch. And unlike the last regime who said they would draft a qb every year, Reid gets qb's the way women get shoes.
Reid has shown he won't sit still at the qb position which is what we want.

I know for a fact that Weddle loves him. I'm sure the other guys in the locker room do as well.

For all of the Chargers shortcomings during his career, Phillip Rivers has been the least of their problems.

I remember reading the same crap about "leadership" with Cassel and then reading that fluff piece during the CBA offseason where he tried calling all his teammates to try and organize player ran practices and the only guys to show ip didn't even make the team.

Players follow quarterbacks they believe gives them a chance to win every game, not guys that are nice guys that give money to bums.

Yeah, I told you this would happen. A divide in the fan base. By week 4, people will be calling for him to get benched. It may happen by week 9. Either that or he gets hurt from taking hits due to his lack of pocket presence and the 35+ sacks he will take. He will make your O-Line and WR look worse then they are. He will make your TEs and RBs look like stud though with those 5 yard hitch routes, crosses and checkdowns.

I've watched this guy all his career, almost every pass. His ceiling is like 20 touchdowns a season. His career high is 17, and that was on the stacked niner team which the defense provided so many three and outs and turnovers. Followed by a three and out by us. Akers broke the NFL record for field goals in 2011.

He's done.

****, maybe I should become a biological warfare specialist. If we go to war with Syria, I'd probably be in high demand to replicate this virus.

You also got him infected through the internet and his computer. I'm pretty sure this has not been done before, and we are looking at a new classification of biological weapon.

Scary stuff actually.
