BUT...people need to remember that nothing you say, do, spend or root for has any affect whatsoever on the outcome of a game. We forget that. To our peril.

I'm thinking about not posting or reading game day threads anymore. Some of the takes are just outrageous visceral reactions. People don't think before they type, they just FEEL and spew it out on the board.

Game day threads are poison honestly. People should consider not posting at all during games.

I don't even know the point of this post. All I know is, the Chiefs own the 1 seed for now, and I hope and think they will keep that. But who knows what will happen every week. I don't have control over it. No fan does.

I'm also into my third pour of Sunday Night Boubon. So...there's that.

GO CHIEFS.
Excellent refutation of the justification for the existence of this BB.

The point of this thread is giving up on one of the greatest players of all time when he's down 8 points is for Traitors, Losers and Cowards.

I don’t remember who but, someone in this thread said something about trolling. I had never thought of it like that, foolishly giving people the benefit of the doubt that is was just PTSD. But, the example you provide along with other completely asinine remarks towards our QB makes me wonder if at least some of it isn’t trolling. And frankly, as bad as the comments were this week I’d be perfectly fine if the mods considered it all trolling (or most if there is a long standing understanding of certain people’s posting habits) and took appropriate action.

If any decades-long Chiefs fan haven't moved on from "because Chiefs", that is absolutely 100% their fault.

I would actually say bandwagon fans have a better case for saying completely stupid shit as they're only here to see them win Super Bowls.

If you know how bad it was pre-Mahomes and watched those games, told yourself you're giving up on watching every game after every postseason embarrassment and on and on through the years and you're STILL so ****ing clueless after the past few years that you panic in the first quarter and call "game over" when they're down one possession, etc...... yeah, you deserve all the ridicule you get.
I’m going to have a moment of complete honesty here and say that “because Chiefs” is always on my mind when things are going the wrong way. But, I force myself to be positive. There are times in game threads late in a game where things are questionable and I quote/piggyback off of some else’s positive post that I’m not really feeling but, I remind myself of our new reality with Mahomes and force the “To the ‘ship!” attitude.

I’m forty so, figure in roughly 30is years of “because Chiefs” ingrained thinking in a species that is not known for quick radical changes and that old habit is going to die hard. And a lot of the people in this world are just not made up to even try to forcefully make the change like I am; ingrained thinking and habit are just damned difficult to overcome.

But, I still fall back on my new found belief that at least a portion of this is just out right trolling and should be dealt with accordingly.

Yeah that’s fine, I don’t recall anything you said. It was some very specific people and comments. It just makes it hard to enjoy the gameday threads.

Do you have any idea how stupid it looks to opposing fanbases to be bitching about Patrick Mahomes as shown in the OP? 95 percent of the other teams in the league would trade their entire roster for him.

Pat is off this season, especially by his standards. Anyone who disagrees is living in denial. If LA had a coach with even a sliver of competence that game is a L. He's still the best QB we've ever had, still is a great player, and still worth his contract. I have no doubt he'll figure it out eventually but he's having a down season and acknowledging that doesn't make you any of the three things the dumb-**** OP suggests.
