I've actually wondered if that would be a good solution for Hootie and Clay both. It'd be a big pain to implement, though.

People keep saying that he was banned for the Fan Duel fiasco. That's not true. Flopnuts clearly stated that he was banned for personally attacking crazycoffey. Everything I've read indicates that he did no such thing.

Anybody who thought there was even a .0001% chance of this thing paying off would have been an idiot. I threw in my $100 because I was curious to see how this whole thing would play out. At the time you couldn't listen to the radio for 30 seconds without bombarded by advertisements from Fanduel and Draft Kings.

People got pissed at Hootie because he blatantly violated the most important rule of the group, A RULE THAT HE INSISTED UPON AS THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF THE GROUP. When the group was formed, Hootie insisted that nobody, absolutely nobody, could take a lineup that the group made and submit that same lineup outside the group. He was ****ing adamant about it. The rest of us agreed, because if the group did mange to hit that .0001% chance, we didn't want half of the pot to go to one guy. But as soon as he got some extra picks, he decided to blatantly violate that rule, and he just couldn't understand why anyone would object.

Not understanding isn't a big deal. But he decided to go into full Hootie meltdown mode. If you've ever witnessed full Hootie meltdown mode, you know what I'm talking about. He turned what should have been a minor disagreement into a big enough deal that he got himself banned.
Yeah. This. The big deal is that he categorically refused to not play his "free rolls" and we were all morons for even suggesting it.

But then the meltdown happened and he spent an inordinate number of posts trashing Flopnuts for being a shit mod. Flop put up with hundreds of more posts than I would have if it were me.

I can appreciate that. Not everyone is a fan of the carnival.

Still, you have to admit that Thig was a fun poster.

How about we create a thread titled "Burst", of which only Clay, Hootie, and Thig Lyfe are allowed to post in. Additionally, that would be the only thread that they are allowed to post in. A little CP experimentation!

I think most of us just wanted to stay out of it and don't have anything personally for or against a guy I(we)only know from an anonymous message board. I would be fine with him being able to come back but I don't like being treated like I stood back and watched the guy's puppy get beat to death in the street just because I didn't defend him on a message board.
Yep. The guy has convinced himself of some serious delusions that he'll never let go.

This. I, like most, don't have the time, energy, or desire to read the thousand posts on the topic and keep score. I generally sided with Hootie, but not on Flopnuts being some bad guy. It was just too many cooks in the kitchen and resulted in a predictable meltdown. Move on.

when this shot percolated up Last time , I was the same way. Wanted to let sleeping dogs lie. Not get involved in rehashing. I only spoke up when People unjustly accused him of stealing money or some BS like that.

Hootie could spend money by placing bets but he had no access to the actual money. None. I was the only one with access to the money. Everyone in the group knows this, saw the publicly posted accounting of every penny going in or out of the account each week. Hootie ****ed up but he didn't steal shit.

Hootie had his moments. When he went off I just skimmed or skipped his posts. People that think they are smarter than everyone else and/or want to prove they are bother me but when he wasn't doing that I liked some of his views. Kind of a Collin cowherd vibe.

I agree. When he wasn't going nuts, it was enjoyable reading a lot of his takes, even if you didn't agree with them.

Clay's football talk, on the other hand, is just awful. He's a better poster when he stays away from football.

Yep. Clays value is well documented. His energy and effort in videos was second to none and were usually very enjoyable. His football takes, even when you agreed with his overall point on something, left you blah at best.
