Cards vs. Royals weekend series

Question for the Royals fans. You want to keep the discussion in your daily game threads or do you just want to keep us Cardinal fans out of "your" threads?

or start a shared thread?

This is looking like the best time in our history that both of our teams have been playing at this high of a level when we played each other.

We went to the NCLS last year and you went to the WS but we were playing like shit when we played. This year we have the best record in baseball and you guys are just one game behind that record, correct?

Bring it on. May the best team win.

Uh, the last time I checked the St. Louis Cardinals were a Midwest baseball team. I can be to Busch Stadium in 4 hours. They are in my geographical proximity.

I hope you climb an Aid's tree with gasoline infused sap, someone light's it on fire, and you are stuck in it yelling for help but Tony LaRussa is the only person nearby but doesn't help you because he is hunched over drunk in his Chevy Tahoe.

You can CoMo should hang out.

And I have a reason to support them all. I'm not some guy raised and lived in KC all of their life, liking the ****ing Tardinals.

I was born in Lawrence, Live in Kansas now. My parents both worked for KU growing up. Hence I am a fan of KU.

I went to high school in Iowa, went to college at the University of Iowa. Didn't want to pay out of state tuition. So that is why I am a Iowa fan.

I am a Royals, Chiefs, and Thunder fan because those 3 teams are the closest proximity to where I live and grew up. Only argument could be made that I could also be a Chicago, T-Wolves, or Nuggets fan as they are also a similar distance away. That is the only sport I have a choice in.

Makes perfect logical sense.

Compare that to Ed, who is 29. Born in Independence, spent some time in the Jackson County Penitentiary for Meth Use. Now works at Wal-Mart off of Noland Rd. But he's a Raider's fan in NFL, a Heat I mean Cavalier fan in NBA, St Louis Cardinal fan in MLB and also likes the Chiefs when they are winning. He also follows Manchester United, for no ****ing reason at all.

You do realize the Rams haven't always been in St. Louis right??? There was a decent gap where there wasn't a team. Who the **** were people supposed to root for? Niners, Packers, Cowboys like some chode?

Did the Brown's fans turn into Bears fan's when their franchise left for a while?

I'm a Thunder Fan. If Kansas City ever got a NBA Franchise, I would immediately burn all of my Thunder gear and denounce them as a Franchise.

I do like your use of chode, however. Good form.

I have lived in neither state and I understand this. Not sure how BWillie doesn't? Young fans should not be fans of the Cards and Chiefs unless family ties, but many people are as the Rams were a late addition to St. Louis, mid 90's right?

I mean, it's a simple concept right. I'm in my late 20's (1985 DOB) and if I had grown up in St. Louis I would have been a Cards fan for baseball and Chiefs for football since St. Louis didn't have a team. That covers a lot of ages then.

There is a huge amount of Chief fans in the area around the same age. The only St. Louis Cardinals known was the baseball team. Never saw the football cards play a game.
