If i had to make a guess just by reading CP, i'd guess that more middle class suburban households fear they're in danger than those who live/lived in poverty/sketchy parts of town.
So weird how that works.

Why do you purchase insurance?
Why do you lock your doors? |

But from my perspective, it's ridiculous that you feel the need to carry a gun in Overland Park or Lenexa or Olathe or wherever in Johnson County and that you're suffering from an irrational fear. |

What's weird is thinking it can't ever happen to you because, you know, you know stuff and stuff. |

To protect investments. It's required with a home loan, car loan, etc. Have you've ever seen a hospital bill without insurance company adjusted rates?
To protect investments, not because I think some criminal is just waiting to burst through the door with a gun looking to kill me. |

I grew up in Northeast KC and then South KC at 77th & Troost. I've worked at 27th & Van Brunt. Right across from the police station which ironically, the 7-11, also across from the police station, was robbed almost daily. But tell us all how you know something, tough guy. |

I understand wanting to own guns. I just don't understand wanting to carry it on you at all times for personal protection. Any situation that you yank out a pistol, you inherently only make that situation escalate, often to the point that you must use it. However, if you had not drawn the pistol, you are out a couple hundred bucks or whatever your insurance doesn't cover. Is it worth risking your life and the lives of those around you for a few hundred bucks?
