Doesn't matter if it was before or after this is a Chiefs form. Doesn't have broncos planet he should be more careful on his words. No matter what the situation is. If we like Berry or not we don't wish guys gets hurt on this team.

I think it was the right thing to do, given the situation. It would have been too much pressure on the GM, coaching staff and players if they were asked to keep this a secret.

This is what I found.

Chiefs safety Eric Berry has been placed in the non-football injury list with a mass on the right side of his chest, team trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters on Monday. Burkholder told reporters Berry did not experience discomfort until the Oakland game on Thursday.

The team believes what Berry has right now is lymphoma. He is expected to go to Emory University hospital for further evaluation. According to coach Andy Reid, Berry addressed his teammates before leaving the team.

"Right now, he needs to be a beast. He'll attack this," coach Andy Reid said.

Berry released the following statement: "I am truly thankful for all of the support from family, friends, coaches, teammates and the entire Chiefs kingdom. At first I was in shock with the diagnosis on Saturday and did not even want to miss a game, but I understand that right now I have to concentrate on a new opponent. I have great confidence in the doctors and the plan they are going to put in place for me to win this fight. I believe that I am in God's hands and I have great peace in that. I know my coaches and teammates will hold things down here the rest of the season and until I am back running out of the tunnel at Arrowhead. I am so thankful and appreciative of being a part of this franchise and playing in front of the best fans in the NFL. I will be back!"

Get well Berry! Hope to see ya kick this thing.

On the field, hopefully this is something that further inspires our team to be great. Play your heart

Does anyone here know how one could send an email mesage to a player? I want to tell Eric about what I am going through and things he might expect and what to look out for with chemotherapy. Serious replies only, please. This is not the time for dumbassery.

you can always tweet him but you are limited to not very many characters per message. Other than that, you could contact the Chiefs and see if they have any contact info. I doubt they would give a personal email buy may give you an address that they will send it to him.

The announcement that he had a mass and was going to miss the rest of the season is fine.

Floating lymphoma though? Say he has a mass, known as a "mediastinal" mass and maybe briefly describe it. But floating out the worst case scenario, which itself is an umbrella term, creates more confusion than clarification.

I wouldn't know an email address but the teams VP of communication Ted Crews would be a good start. Or his agent. That's my best guess. Who knows if he is in the frame of mind to be receptive. All people react in different ways I imagine. All you can do is try. That's cool of you man God bless you and EB both

If the diagnosis was truly in question, there would have been no reason to put him on IR immediately, so they must feel confident about their initial tests.

Was thinking the same thing except that tweets disappear quickly and it doesn't look like Berry really uses it much. Wonder if you can send a DM on Twitter instead.

Is that why he couldn't chase down Murray on that 90 yard run?

All jokes aside, get well soon Berry! Thoughts and prayers sent your way buddy.

I'm not sure what this will do for his career in the national football league. I mean, I can't help but think this will be a very hard thing to come back from. Hopefully it hasn't spread.

I know that he was a big part of this defense and its attitude. Always liked watching the pregame with him in the middle hyping up the defense before they took to the field.
