I'm not joking. If you are going to fire a guy who wins 9 games every year you damn well better hire someone who can get you to a National Championship.

Why would Dan ****ing Mullen or John Harbaugh want to come to Nebraska?Tressel is barred from signing a contract until 2016. And Cutcliffe is worse against ranked teams than ****ing Bo.

And don't get me started on 9 wins. That is ****ing dumb and you know it.

JFC, man. You're the embodiment of the "dumbshit Nebraska fans" everybody talks about.

That's terrible.

Joe Moglia
Former CEO of Ameritrade.
At coastal carolina, has gone:
2012: 8-5
2013: 12-3
2014: 11-1
Billionaire, so money ain't no thang. We could pay some coordinators really, really well.

Nebraska is his dream job.

JFC, man. You're the embodiment of the "dumbshit Nebraska fans" everybody talks about.

You dumbass he asked who we wanted. I meant Jim Harbaugh who will likely be fired by the 49ers, Dan Mullen would be an outside shot but Mississippi State isn't a long term job and Nebraska could pay him more, Tressel isn't barred from signing a contract that's false. Cutcliffe turned around Duke and has been a successful coordinator.

You're a dumbass though mentioning a former CEO and coaches nobody has heard of. You do understand recruiting is part of winning right? If you're going to fire a guy who wins 9 games every year you better bring in a guy who recruits better and gets to the title game.

1. Tressel
Quote:
It also imposed a five-year show-cause penalty on Tressel, which means any NCAA member that wants to hire him would have to "show cause" for why it shouldn't be sanctioned for hiring him, and could face severe penalties if he commits any further violations during that time. The order stands until December 19, 2016; given past precedent, it will likely have the effect of blackballing Tressel from the coaching ranks until the 2017 season. If Tressel ever coaches again during this period, he will be suspended for the first five games of the regular season, plus any conference championship game or bowl game.
2. Jim Harbaugh will not come to Nebraska. I'm sorry, but that is ignorant, wishful thinking.

3. Dan Mullen, a born and bred southerner, will not leave his top 5 program to come to Nebraska. Mississippi State will find a way to match, and Mullen would likely hold out for a better program, or stick with the top 5 SEC program he built. It's not like he's at LA Monroe.

4. Cutcliffe is 2-13 against ranked teams in his tenure. You want that?

Gosh, you are clueless to the point of not knowing what you don't know. Just because you haven't heard of them does not mean no one has. These guys have been discussed for the past two weeks.

You don't fire a guy who wins 9-10 games every year for an unknown coach.

Unknown to whom? You?

The guys I posted have solid resumes. And they would be great coaches for different reasons.

You are incredibly, incredibly dense on this matter. It's not worth the back and forth.

From an outsiders perspective, i'd flip the two roles. You are the dumbshit Nebraska fan and billay has a solid grip on reality.

Explain.

a) Should Bo be retained?
b) If not, who would be an adequate replacement? Certainly not two pipe dreams, a coach with sanctions attached to him for the next two years, or a coach who is worse than Bo Pelini against ranked teams.

Do tell.

If you think Bo should be retained, read this:

Quote:
After seven years of Pelini, Nebraska fans know what they have and what they're going to get. And at some point, if the program has become incapable of winning anything meaningful, that's a problem Nebraska needs to address regardless of Pelini's overall record (66-27) or the fact he has never had a bad season by any standard.

But don't let anyone — including Pelini — tell you that that Nebraska should just be happy with its nine wins a year because this isn't 1994 anymore. Look behind the numbers. Pelini's best win this season? Over a mediocre Miami team. Last year? Nebraska didn't beat anyone with a pulse until it survived, 24-19, against a beat-up Georgia team in the Gator Bowl.

Meanwhile, Nebraska losing to ranked teams has become so routine and predictable, you barely even need to watch with just two wins in its last 10. At 8-1, the Cornhuskers had a chance to turn that narrative around but a 59-24 loss to Wisconsin dropped them out of the race for anything significant. Then, they backed it up with a 28-24 home loss to Minnesota. Minnesota, for goodness sakes.

Does unhappiness with that trend sound like a spoiled fan base that doesn't appreciate Pelini the way it should, or does it sound like a fan base justifiably ready to see if they can indeed do better?

As Nebraska stumbles toward the end of the season, we may be getting ready to find out.
If you think his proposed coaches are more likely than mine, then save your outsider perspective. Dumbass.

CL - You've completely boxed yourself in.

No proven coach is coming to a school that fires coaches the way Nebraska does. Solich and Pelini both won a ****ton of games and never really had a single bad season, but Huskerfan wants to fire their way to prosperity.

Nebraska has very little in-state talent. It plays a mind-numbingly boring schedule. It hasn't been a serious contender to win anything since today's recruits have been out of diapers. It's in the middle of nowhere. Its ****ing freezing during football season. The schools surrounding it now take football seriously and do a much better job of landing their own local kids than they did back during Nebraska's glory days, and the money/facilities advantages that Nebraska used to enjoy have largely disappeared now that everyone is rich.

And...oh by the way...there are some BIG TIME schools that also have openings. You want to go up against Michigan and Florida for a coach? Good luck.

With Michigan and Florida and some other schools that may open up, I doubt NU would be in the running for a giant name proven HC.

I think the most obvious option and realistic choice is Scott Frost.

I'd be fine with that.
