I'm not joking. If you are going to fire a guy who wins 9 games every year you damn well better hire someone who can get you to a National Championship.

You dumbass he asked who we wanted. I meant Jim Harbaugh who will likely be fired by the 49ers, Dan Mullen would be an outside shot but Mississippi State isn't a long term job and Nebraska could pay him more, Tressel isn't barred from signing a contract that's false. Cutcliffe turned around Duke and has been a successful coordinator. You're a dumbass though mentioning a former CEO and coaches nobody has heard of. You do understand recruiting is part of winning right? If you're going to fire a guy who wins 9 games every year you better bring in a guy who recruits better and gets to the title game. |

3. Dan Mullen, a born and bred southerner, will not leave his top 5 program to come to Nebraska. Mississippi State will find a way to match, and Mullen would likely hold out for a better program, or stick with the top 5 SEC program he built. It's not like he's at LA Monroe. 4. Cutcliffe is 2-13 against ranked teams in his tenure. You want that? Gosh, you are clueless to the point of not knowing what you don't know. Just because you haven't heard of them does not mean no one has. These guys have been discussed for the past two weeks. |

You don't fire a guy who wins 9-10 games every year for an unknown coach.

The guys I posted have solid resumes. And they would be great coaches for different reasons. You are incredibly, incredibly dense on this matter. It's not worth the back and forth. |

From an outsiders perspective, i'd flip the two roles. You are the dumbshit Nebraska fan and billay has a solid grip on reality.

a) Should Bo be retained? b) If not, who would be an adequate replacement? Certainly not two pipe dreams, a coach with sanctions attached to him for the next two years, or a coach who is worse than Bo Pelini against ranked teams. Do tell. |

CL - You've completely boxed yourself in.
No proven coach is coming to a school that fires coaches the way Nebraska does. Solich and Pelini both won a ****ton of games and never really had a single bad season, but Huskerfan wants to fire their way to prosperity. Nebraska has very little in-state talent. It plays a mind-numbingly boring schedule. It hasn't been a serious contender to win anything since today's recruits have been out of diapers. It's in the middle of nowhere. Its ****ing freezing during football season. The schools surrounding it now take football seriously and do a much better job of landing their own local kids than they did back during Nebraska's glory days, and the money/facilities advantages that Nebraska used to enjoy have largely disappeared now that everyone is rich. And...oh by the way...there are some BIG TIME schools that also have openings. You want to go up against Michigan and Florida for a coach? Good luck.

With Michigan and Florida and some other schools that may open up, I doubt NU would be in the running for a giant name proven HC.
I think the most obvious option and realistic choice is Scott Frost. I'd be fine with that. |
