Do the events of this weekend save Pioli's and Crennel's jobs?

Obviously lots of emotion today....Emotion probably won the game IMO.

Does that change anything in Clarks mind? The classy way that Pioli and Crennel have handled the past few days. I fear its going to cloud his judgement when the tough decisions need to be made in a few weeks.

Thoughts?

With the events of yesterday and winners of their final 3 of 5, Clark Hunt will have an excuse to retain them and not end up paying both and a new GM and HC in 2013.
Worst case scenario.

If Pioli and Crennel DO stay, do people still want a QB in the first round?

I don't know. Will one year with that coaching staff destroy him?

Well, if anybody isn't listening to Soren Petro this morning, you should be - it might make you feel better about this subject.

Just some background - Petro is usually ULTRA-conservative when it comes to firing coaches. He channels his inner Karen Kornacki when talking about it - "coaches are human beings, firing coaches uproots families" yada yada yada.

Well, he's spent the last few minutes saying things like:

"This tragedy doesn't change anything. It's still a 2-win team."
"It can't take 11 games in a season to figure out who you are."
"Families are going to be uprooted, but these guys have to go."

So if Petro is still FIRMLY on the "fire them" bandwagon, maybe there won't be as much backlash as I originally feared...

You think the wave of sympathy will be strong enough to get guys like Petro to convert?

If so, we might as well plan on everybody being back next year because there's absolutely zero chance they'll be fired.

There isnt anyone in KC more loved right now then Pioli and Crennel for winning the game yesterday...

I cant even listen to 810 or 610 today without wanting to throw up....

Both will return next year because of this. Put it down in Stone.

You haven't been listening to 810 this morning. Especially Petro.

Done nothing but say "they STILL need to be fired". And they haven't taken many callers, but none of the callers have said anything different either.

The events of this weekend have nothing to do with the substandard performance to date on the field.

While I feel terrible for Pioli, Crennel, and everyone involved, these are 2 completely separate issues.

Their employment and job performance cannot be tied to this event. They have to go.

That doesn't mean that they don't have my sympathy for what they've gone through, it's terrible. But feeling badly for them personally doesn't change the state of this team.

That works for you, me, and a lot of other people.

It won't work for a great many more. Like it or not, this is the Age of Emotion in our country.

I guess we'll see how fans and team officials feel after this team is pillaged the final 3-4 weeks of the season, and what emotion rules in week 17 when Denver destroys the Chiefs on the road to finish off the year.

Maybe this tragedy gives Romeo and Pioli the "out" they need to resign or retire with their pride to cope with the circumstances.

I think Petro is a douchewaffle, spewing forth useless banter on his crappy show.

So suggesting that people shouldn't let emotions dictate their actions and that Pioli and Romeo still need to be fired is "useless banter".

How badly do you want them gone again?
